It is a 90 minute flight so they got to Sacramento after 3 pm local time for a 7 pm local time start. Let's not act like this is your standard rest BS. Probably not even going to a hotel

The NBA knows the situation and didn’t postpone the game.

The rest of the team still has to play.

They have routines and got stuck on the plane too, no?

I could see if we are talking about Dudes with degenerative knees stuck in coach on a commercial flight.

They fly private.

Would suck for Dame.

But, missing the playoffs is the only way to keep that pick.

They might actually have 2.

Portland could have two first-round picks in the 2023 draft. Or it could have none.

The Blazers’ own 2023 first is owed to the Chicago Bulls, but it only conveys if it falls outside the lottery. If Portland misses the playoffs, it keeps a top-14 pick and the protections roll over to 2024.

As per the Hart deal, Portland will get the Knicks’ first-round pick if that also falls outside the lottery.

So if New York makes the playoffs and the Blazers don’t, voila, two first-round picks.

On the flip side, if the Knicks miss the playoffs and the Blazers get in, zero first-round selections in 2023.

Being reported that Embiid is considering taking some extended rest to prepare for the playoffs.

Completely agree.

I think Russ is probably a pretty great team mate. I think his intentions are good too, but he's selfish as fuck.

At this point in his career, Russ is the kinda guy that needs to be the #1 guy on a below-average team in hope of possibly making the playoffs

The problem is, he thinks he should be the #1 guy on a high playoff contender. And he isn't.

If he goes to the Clippers with the same attitude he had with the Lakers ie. Anyone can be the #1 guy on any given night, he is going to be in for a nasty surprise.

What I see happening is, he's going to be taking shots meant for PG or Kawhi and it's going to affect the outcome of the game. Just like he did on the Lakers.

He should have gone to the Bulls

I get what you are saying.

But just not possible to be a good teammate if you are selfish.

Especially as a role player.

I think people like him because he is a good person and brings energy.

But good teammates are by definition players who put the team first.

Russ has never done that.

I see more teams doing that. Of course they won't call it "rest"

Something like

That is what I meant to say. You are right!

Poster?

A bit overstated.

But, this is why he needs a couple of extra buckets of burgers added to his daily diet.

He’s really light in the ass.

He’s an addict.

Gambling> Lakers Fandom

…..and he’s the one that predicted a top 6 team.

Throw his ass off the bandwagon!!!

I mean shit, unless you have some sort of inside knowledge and are completely certain, go for it.

But generally, just.... no

Blazers +6 seems silly when their two best players are out against the 3rd best team in the West.
