Its a joke referring to Peyton's "liquored up idiot kicker" comment ...

Vanderjagt was right about Dungy and Manning. Those two should've won multiple Super Bowls.

As much as watching Brady win a SB without us this year pained me to the core I'm glad it's yet another category(winning SB's with more than one team) that he outshines Manning in.

The New England Patriots near organized team activities with an active roster of 89.

The latest spot would be filled on Thursday by veteran safety Adrian Colbert, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Colbert entered the NFL in the seventh round of the 2017 draft after transferring from the Texas Longhorns to the Miami Hurricanes ahead of his senior season. The 27-year-old has been a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants over the campaigns since then.

Through 33 games and 19 starts in his career, Colbert stands with 93 tackles, eight passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

In 2020, Colbert made six appearances for New York after being claimed off waivers in September and activated from injured reserve in December. Along the way as a Giant, he saw 104 snaps on defense and 43 snaps on special teams.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Colbert has experience under former Patriots assistant coaches ranging from Brian Flores and Josh Boyer to Joe Judge and Patrick Graham. He now joins a depth chart that includes Devin McCourty, Adrian Phillips, Kyle Dugger, Jalen Mills, Cody Davis as well as a group of cornerbacks who also offer versatility at the safety position.

And there's more

The 90-man roster reached capacity for the New England Patriots on Thursday. And it did so with a familiar face.
The Patriots re-signed running back Tyler Gaffney heading into voluntary organized team activities, as first reported by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Gaffney, 30, earned a pair of Super Bowl rings during his previous stay in New England after being waived by the Carolina Panthers with the injury designation following a torn lateral meniscus in the summer of 2014. The former sixth-round draft choice out of Stanford spent his first, second and part of his third season on injured reserve before splitting time between the practice squad and active roster.
“Tyler — he’s a smart guy, very team-oriented,” Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said of Gaffney’s role on the scout team late in the 2016 campaign. “If you ask him to do something, he’s going to give you a great look. There’s nobody that takes more punches than he does. He must get punched in the stomach 10 times a day. The defense is trying to take the ball out. That’s his role. That’s his job. But they’re slapping at the ball, they’re pulling at it, they’re trying to punch it. Half the time they miss. He does a great job.”

The Patriots waived Gaffney in 2017. A preseason stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars followed before the second-team All-Pac 12 selection announced his retirement from the NFL.
Gaffney, who played in the minor leagues while at Stanford, returned to the baseball outfield for the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Bradenton Marauders and Altoona Curve affiliates. Through 89 games, he posted a .244 batting average to go with 36 RBI and six home runs.
Last December, Gaffney restarted his football career as a member of the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad. He was released one week into January. The 6-foot, 220-pound running back now reconvenes with New England on a depth chart that includes Damien Harris, Sony Michel, James White, Brandon Bolden, J.J. Taylor and fourth-round draft pick Rhamondre Stevenson from Oklahoma, who signed his rookie contract this week.
The Patriots also agreed to terms with veteran safety Adrian Colbert on Thursday.
OTA sessions begin in Foxborough on May 24.

Gaffney will be a camp body at RB while some RB's are not attending.
Don't get me wrong, I like Gaffney but the 30 YO missed his chance at NFL with multiple knee injuries. He won't make the team.

No, but he'll make some quick cash and get to enjoy the smell of a locker room in Late July.

He's an UDRFA not sure anyone would ever consider anyone a long term answer at that draft position.

Bottom line is it's a position of consideration so why not take a shot?
5. Under-the-radar Patriots: Media members have had a chance to watch two practices over the past two weeks, and here are a few lower-profile players who have caught the eye for different reasons:
  • Quinn Nordin, K -- The only rookie free agent on the roster, Nordin's booming kicks sometimes seem like they might land in the neighboring town of Walpole.

I'd feel better about him if they said the balls were landing in Andover.

Or Lowel.
