Definitely just a depth piece... Which should work well for Ingram, whom has been dogged by injuries. Giving him 20-30 snaps a game rotating in to spell both Watt & Highsmith will benefit the entire defense. Butler's defense lives & dies by the pass rush so this was an important signing for them. No way they were going to feel confident with Marsh & Roche as their only depth.

I'm seein that the Ingram deal was around $4m for 1 yr... Going to guess about $3m cap hit. Prove-it type contract with low risk.

Meaning the Steelers still have around $10m in cap space if they want to go after another fish in the pond. Hooker? Schwartz?

Have no issues with the Ingram deal should help the depth. At this point I think Schwartz is a larger need but if both could fit under the 10 million that would be great. Question though, with Schwartz didn't he have back surgery? If so would he be ready?

Wasn't aware of the surgery... But if so I still wouldn't mind it. They could put him on PUP to start the year and give him 5-6 weeks to rest & see where he's at in October. They would be fine with Banner, Chuks & Moore in the meantime.

But now they signed Chaz Green... I'm hopin that has more to do with Jarron Jones not bein ready for TC because he's not a competition upgrade by any means. Right now the OT room looks more like quantity over quality.

Yeah no clue really who Chaz Green is and looking at his history it seems he had a chance to start in Dallas but was hurt and lost out. Since then was just roster filler. I hope they do improve on OT at some point.

Think I read that Green played in 37 or so games in his career. So he's got a decent amount of experience and has always been capable of making 53-55 man rosters. So there's that. IIRC Haeg had the same sort of résumé.

You may remember Chaz Green last year since he was holding TJ Watt on every play against the Colts.

I agree. Last year he was still very solid. Not sure why so many people dismiss his loss. Especially since Sutton was primarily used as a slot CB. Even in the 2-3 starts he played outside they still rotated him into the slot when operating with 3-4 DBs. Thinking Sutton will be a lockdown outside CB doesn't have much of a basis to go on. There's certainly optimism though.

I'd love it if they found a way to bring Nelson back. Highly doubt it though.
