Let the Giannis reign begin

Let the Giannis reign begin
Not at all. I don't think there's a guy in the NBA outside of CP3 that I would actively route against. Just man he's a dirty player. And this is coming from a guy who routes for Draymond Green, lol.
It was more espn nonsense trying to say the coach on Phoenix was smarter than Milwaukee’s coach. Big time fail
Exactly. There are so many factors that are outside of a players control that determine whether or not they get any titles. If not for MJ, Barkley likely has 1. If MJ doesn't retire for a couple of seasons, Hakeem might not have any.
If not for 2 miracle shots (D-Fish and Ray Ray)...Timmy might have 7 titles.
That's not even factoring in things like the teams they went to and the competence of those teams front offices in putting a contending roster around them, injuries, etc.
It's why titles are tiebreakers, nothing more.
While I was pulling for the Suns, I have to say that one of the really good things about this finals and the Bucks winning, is that a lot more people now know what a genuinely good dude Giannis seems to be.
How? These guys are always banged up and not getting youngerUntil next playoffs when the Nets trounce everyone in the East
Isn’t it amazing how quick a narrative can change though?
Giannis was a Kyrie and/or Harden injury away from proving he didn’t have what it takes to win a title.
Then they won.
It is why I always say that it isn’t fair to claim a player/team can’t win just because they didn’t.
The Harden Rockets is the prime example. They took the Warriors to 7 games and were definitely a championship team. They just lost to somebody a little better. Most years that group probably wins.
Yeah but what did he do in his first 9 seasons?Giannis by the numbers. Damn impressive.
First NBAer to achieve all this stuff before 27.
-2x MVP
-Finals MVP
-5x all star
-5x all NBA
-DPOY
Highest percentage of teams points in a closeout win.
1. MJ- '98 (51.7%)
2. Giannis- '21 (47.6%)
3. Bob Pettit- '58 (45.5%)
4. MJ- '97 (43.3%)
His 50 points in the closeout win is tied for first all time (only other player to do that- Pettit in '58)
And his 35.3 ppg is the 3rd most all time for a Finals debut
I guess he mentioned CLE bc they recently won their first championship and he couldn't get it done for the Suns first ship? My guess

Now that the edibles have kicked gotta question. Do yous guys think the Bucks title is diminished because the Nets weren't 100%?
#flat-eather-thinkin'
No. As I posted the other day...every season has a "story" about how it played out. Part of this years story is the injuries, part of last years story was the bubble, in previous years, it's been strikes.
It provides context as far as how/why the season played out as it did. But doesn't diminish any individual or team accomplishments, imo.
Of course it doesn't diminish anything. Giannis had a great Finals and the Bucks had a helluva run to the title.
Totally agree...other than the CP3 mention.I was pulling for the Bucks last night with about 75% of the enthusiasm I would have had for the Warriors winning, which is considerable for me. Giannis was just otherworldly. The way he dominated inside of the 3 point line might actually create a shift in play in the NBA. It was incredible.
I was a little nervous watching Holiday on offense but his defense was tremendous on Booker. Middleton was ok, but he made the big plays when it counted.
But overall I'm just very, very happy that CP3 didn't win again. Good guys got the win in this matchup this time around.
Not so sure he's the better coach. I mean, even after this season he still only has won 48% of his games. Still gets the credit for making it but it's no secret each opponent on the playoffs pre Finals was missing their best or 2nd best player. He probably is the better coach.
Milwaukee definitely had the best player and the better, more experienced roster.
