Call me crazy but doesn't Brady currently work for the Patriots? Seems like the Pats would have a very strong case against the Raiders for tampering if Brady did indeed purchase a house and then ended up signing there.
Or am I wrong about that?
Players can do pretty much what they want. He's under contract until March 18th but he fulfilled his contract obligations as far as the league is concerned. No teams can approach him about playing, but if he just so happens to run into the owner of the raiders at a UFC fight and they just happen to spend the evening together, so be it. If the owner of the raiders tells him that now is a good time to invest in high-value property in Las Vegas. no harm, no foul. If the Raider's owner says that he can hook up Tom's wife with a few Casino people about setting up some shops and Tom might consider opening a TB12 in the new Stadium, that could be a hell of a deal.
Playing for the Raiders is never discussed between them, but I'm sure that there were non-NFL associated people sitting in the area or across the dinner table who might have mentioned that Mr. Davis could use a big name quarterback to fill those 100,000 seats and that Tom has one of the biggest names that might be available in March. wink, wink.
