This has the feeling of those times when a run of the mill role player gets ridiculously overpaid because there's not many name free agents out there and teams feel the need to spend on someone
for what?
they should’ve sold high earlier but not sure what you do with him Now.
im surprised he wasn’t a part of the brow deal.
He is almost untradeable.
His salary is so low that his production far exceeds his contract. And yes, I realize he isn’t that good.
Unless they are packaging a couple guys with him to get a star, they will end up keeping him. That is unlikely.

I would hope a shooter. That was the Lakers biggest weakness, imo. They got away with it because of their size, they always had the 2 best players on the floor and their defense.
The 3 point shooters they have are all streaky. The Lakers were lucky that at least one of them was hot in most games.
Well if they were to get Gallinari in FA...they wouldn't push them to NEEDING a shooter. You could explore Green + Kuzma, Green is just a role player but I'm sure a handful of playoff potential teams would love to have him.
My unpopular opinion would be to trade everyone not named bron or brow for Paul.
that would include 28.
but you’d have the mle too. Plus you could buy some seconds to take those seniors who can contribute.
plus you’d get some vet ring chasers.
I mean there isn't much to trade. On the books at this point: Lebron, Green, Kuz, Caruso and Horton Tucker.
No reason to trade Caruso and Horton-Tucker. Only $4.2M combined. Cook has a partially guaranteed. Bradley and McGee have player options.
The only real "assets" they have to trade is Green, Kuz + 20 1st and 22 1st so it seems that's why we are hearing the Green + Kuz rumors. Not sure what they could get but it's worth a try.
The MLE is going to be the key.

But you’d need kcp and Bradley to both opt in for that to be a reality.

KCP is opting out. But it's said that he wants to re-sign with the Lakers.
OKC would probably have to cooperate a little by deciding to go young since their current roster isn't getting past the 1st or 2nd round anyway. If CP3 lets them know he'd like to go to the Lakers (assuming he does) and any other offers aren't that much better than the Lakers....maybe they do him a favor?
they could cooperate because if Paul gets hurt or loses effectiveness, they're stuck with him and that contract while not competing.
I really like Horton-Tucker, probably more than the Lakers do.
The 2023 second is fun because lebron and paul expire. Could be a decent second rounder.
But it's a very small price to pay for the Lakers to add a guy like CP3.
OKC gets Horton-Tucker and 28, plsu dead weight contracts to shed 60m in payroll in the future.
Lakers are capped out anyway and this is their only chance to get another player of Paul's caliber.
Buy some seconds to add some young players and call it a day.
Funny you should mention that.
I was watching The Dan Patrick Show and he said that's he's hearing that Lebron (and therefore the Lakers) may be interested in CP3.
They'll need to do something. Imo, they had this year to win a title with this roster. With the Warriors due to be back and other teams expected top improve, there's no way Lebron is looking at the current roster and saying "Yep, I'm good with this".
