I would love to have CP3 on the team but he's due to make over $80m over the next two years. Lakers wouldn't be able to afford him. There's no way he gives up that kinda money to take a MLE.

who is giving up money?

Paul has a contract for 2 years. Lakers will still have a version of the mle to add someone else.

This could be interesting. More of a salary dump for OKC. But Horton-Tucker was an analytics darling of his pre-draft and the second rounder could really interesting as it could be a bridge year for LAL.

Meh, LA is giving up too much in this trade. They wouldn't have to give up anything close to this much imo. CP3 was great for them but shedding $41M for two years is more than 1/3 of their cap

they need to match them salary wise.

like this is how the nba cap works.

My fault...even though AD opted out his 2020-2021 CAP HOLD is still technically on the books until he extends...if I am thinking clearly. The Lakers would have enough salary to match with that trade @The Q posted. That being said, it doesn't seem realistic at all considering they give up their whole team minus AD+Lebron.

Still, they have to match salaries but for the LA that is still giving up too much for a bloated contract and injury risk, even though they wouldn't have a choice

I think most of those guys are easily replaceable.

green is a big loss. the rest? Meh. Especially since they still have their first in my most recent scenario

KCP was huge for them but I agree overall. They could sign a guy to the MLE to replace him.

Here is one. :skip:

my most recent version took kcp out since he’s opting out.

so they’d have Paul and kcp in the backcourt

I tbink it costs a lot more then that for Beal. The Celtics could easily top that.

I mentioned kcp cause you mentioned him in that post as well.

It makes you think...maybe Kawhi was more at fault with all the shit in San Antonio. He doesn't seem like much of a leader
I never blame a player when a misdiagnosis is involve. Even if it’s perceived and the team doesn’t have your back. Doesn’t mean he was 100% right. But once that trust is broken, it’s over. Same with Trent Williams and the redskins a few years ago

Still, years ago some were put the Spurs organization at full fault and that isn't fair. Even in the Trent Williams case, there is almost always fault on both sides. Now it comes out Kawhi wants to take off games like he was in SA, not a very good role model for young players or your teammates. Lebron isn't doing that in his 17th year. He is far from the innocent guy perceived by everyone for years...he doesn't handle situations well. I wouldn't want to play with the guy but there is no doubt he is a beast on the court, when he is on the court.

I've heard some CP3 rumors...I don't think LA would have to give up much to get him considering that contract is insane but that's interesting with OKC. Do they want him to keep mentoring this young core or just shed the salary...venture to say they want to get that salary off the books at this point.

They won’t.

Just have to match salary.

That is the hard part though.

I don’t think Trent Williams was much at fault.

Honestly surprised more players didn’t refuse to play until they were traded with how awful the Washington Football team has been run.

I thought the same but I read an article that kind of broke everything down...but mostly I agree, Washington is a pretty awful run organization and I don't remember ever hearing something like that happen. It was bad but shit happens. Washington needs to revamp that F.O. if they want to succeed going forward.

Mo Speights throwing shade at James?

LMAO

Now that's hilarious. Mo the journeyman (6 teams in 11 years) talkin' some trash. He don't got the playing resume to be saying stuff like that. Good for him though, it made me laugh.
