2020 NFL free agency: Ranking Top 100 players available

Based on this guy's opinion, Armstead is only the 17th ranked free agent. So Franchise Tagging him IMO, is still a tough decision.

If you look at this one past season, i think he should be higher. But teams do their due diligence and know about his history. They also factor in who he's been playing next to.

This is why last year, 2 years ago, and even 3 years ago, you don't just go out and sign the top names in free agency. While at the time you have loads of cap space, it evaporates very quickly.

Every year is the same, soon as ANY big name hits free agency, someone on this board will say lets sign him, but it'll always be followed with "sign this guy cheap". Well, the top names are never cheap, there's a reason the top ones enter free agency.

49ers open to trading Marquise Goodwin - ProFootballTalk

Problem with trading Goodwin is his market value? He doesn't have a strong track record of consistently catching the deep balls. He's been injured of late, already stated he wanted to participate in the olympics, and this is strong class of WR's coming out.

Just don't see anyone wanting to trade for Goodwin, and we haven't even gotten to his contract.

Nope they can try to trade him but unlikely to get any takers.

Maybe a 2 year deal for V Beasley opposite Bosa???

Beasley would be a good signing but the only 'big' FA signings will be our own. We just don't have the cap space to go out for others. We might sign some depth guys, but not projected starters like a Beasely, especially a pass rusher.

I'm also counting an extension here for either Kittle or Buckner, even though they're not FA's.

2 years of Beasley and Thomas might be better than $17million a year for Armstead. We dont know yet where the pieces of the puzzles fit. LB guys from Mississippi State and LSU Gay have some speed and movement to help Warner and Kwon out!!

..Clowney?

Our cap can't fit anyone like this, we can't even fit a Beasley.

Lynch needs to extend Kittle OR Buckner first, then move on to Armstead, Ward, and Sanders. Even if he does extend one guy, still don't think he can fit Armstead? We would need to provide a lot of guarantees to get Armstead signed, and i wouldn't do it.

Regarding Tom Brady coming to SF, this is what Chris Biderman sarcastically posted:

Any time you can get older, worse, give yourself a chance to piss off the locker room and lose long-term flexibility, you gotta do it.

While another dynamic TE would've been nice, we need a dynamic WR even more. We won't be getting a top WR prospect, but we should consider a speedster later on. A speedster who plays Goodwin's role of getting downfield fast.
