Does anyone think next season will start in December?

I think it will. Maybe without fans. But other leagues seem to have figured out home games at least. No reason for the NHL to wait any longer I don’t think.

That would be great if they do start in December and its 2.5 months away.

Nah. I think season starts 1/1/21. If this season ends around the 1st week of October, give the teams 4-6 weeks off, 2 weeks of training camp and then bam we are already at 2021

Haven't had time to dig in to the draft, but that's only a couple weeks away. Free agency too.

IDK, I'm pretty sure I heard there will be a Civil War that's supposed to start around Nov 3-5, I hope it doesn't bleed over into the pre season.

Seeing on twitter that the Wild may be looking to move Dumba. I’d have interest there. RH shot, 3 more years at 6M. Wonder what it would take and if the Flyers could move enough salary back for it to make sense.

Fletcher should still have ties to that franchise. Id be curious as well what it would take?

Yep. Might have even been the GM that drafted him? I can't get a feel for his value vs contract. Seems like he's a bit overpaid, which could maybe drive down the price in these budget times?

Edit: He was the GM that drafted him.

If we get Dumba what do the defensive pairs look like?

I think the Flyers' interest would depend on who they already have to protect in the expansion draft next year. If Provorov, Sanheim and Myers all need to be protected, the Flyers won't have any interest in Dumba. This is the exact reason Dumba is being made available in the first place from Minnesota's perspective.

But, playing along, I would think any deal for Dumba would have to center around Konecny going the other way, both for Minnesota to bite as well as to make the cap dollars work. That's probably too steep a price to pay for most of our tastes.

It would break up our top four which we are counting on getting better and not making as much money as Dumba.

That's a good point on Provorov/Sanheim/Myers. I was thinking of Dumba as a top 4 RH dman, particularly for when Niskanen moves on after next year. Just be really deep on D next year. I was wondering if Ghost could be part of the package going back. To help with the dollars, but also give them a high offense guy on the back end. But upon more research, looks like Brodin and Suter are both LH guys already, thought one was RH.

How bad did we get screwed by being the top seed in a year where there is no home ice advantage.
