We need to figure out a package deal for a good solid dman to come in for 4-5 year deal. Settle things down until all the other dmen are up to their full potentials. Question who is out there that totally fills the bill. Gotta be somebody better then Dumba?

That's a good point on Provorov/Sanheim/Myers. I was thinking of Dumba as a top 4 RH dman, particularly for when Niskanen moves on after next year. Just be really deep on D next year. I was wondering if Ghost could be part of the package going back. To help with the dollars, but also give them a high offense guy on the back end. But upon more research, looks like Brodin and Suter are both LH guys already, thought one was RH.

Oh, I definitely get the logic and agree he'd be a nice fit in the long term top 4!

Just for fun, what do you think the Flyers would need to add to Ghost to get a deal done? I'm thinking quite a bit. Minn is probably desperate for NHL-ready young centers with top 6 potential, so maybe a package of Ghost, Frost and a mid-tier prospect?

TBH, I'm not super familiar with Minnesota other than they get made fun of on twitter for being the most mediocre at everything haha

But I was thinking Ghost, 1st round pick, and a high level prospect. Center probably isn't ideal from the Flyers side with Patrick's future a little up in the air. Obviously I would want to avoid the top guys, Frost and York, but I'm not sure the rest of the bunch gets them there.

Ghost Frost Rubstov for Seth jones.

Seth Jones would probably be more like Couturier. He's probably a top 10 dman in the league.

Even if we were to somehow put together a package for Seth Jones, he has a modified no-trade clause and you wouldn't think Columbus would want to trade him within their division.

That said, even if the trade were completed, he's probably going to want $11-12 million per season after the next two seasons of only $5.4 million per. It would make him among the highest paid defensemen in the Nhl, which he arguably deserves.

We need to be patient and see what teams are up against financially in signing some of their players. I think we could find someone who is a conundrum and maybe reach out on a long term lucrative deal. I think patience is the key but if all else fails you still have Ghost to dangle in a decent package deal. Dumba is gonna be a no for me.

How about Ghost Frost Rubstov and York for Seth Jones

That's closer I think, but probably still not there. I don't think Columbus moves Jones for anything other than a high impact, NHL-proven player. I think to get CBJ to consider it, you'd have to include Konecny (+) or Couturier.

Looks like Minnesota wants to make some deals.

And bad ones at that. A team that needs C help, traded their best C for a mediocre winger that's more expense.

I'd get them on the phone just to see if there's anything you can steal from them.

Starting to hear rumors that the Yotes may be parting ways with Ekman-Larsen. Wonder what it would take to land him, better option then Dumba IMO, but he's lefty.
