Brink was blocking shots all over the place!!!

Finally got to watch a little last night. Caught the first two periods. I really liked Brink's game. Every single shift he went to the net in the o-zone. If he can hold up physically, that's going to get him a lot of points.

I don't think they'd get much relief putting JvR on the taxi-squad. It's like just under $1M I think. Same as if they were to send him to the AHL (waivers included).

They've got the money for Chara anyway. Cap Friendly has them at 2.2M in space. Patrick will eat up .8M of that. Either Fletcher wasn't interested in Chara or he chose the Caps over the Flyers.

If it's the latter, it's not too hard to understand. Supposedly one of the breaks with the Bruins was over role/ice time. With the Flyers he'd be fighting Provorov, Sanheim, Ghost, and Hagg for icetime. With the Caps he's fighting Brendan Dillen, Jonas Siegenthaller, and a bunch of prospects.

Edit: Orlov is also LH, though he's listed as a RD on Cap Friendly.

Provorov has strictly been a left side dman his whole career and I believe Chara has been too. I don't think they would've played together at 5 on 5, but we can agree to disagree on that.

For him, and the balance of team - gotta get off to a fast start. We have a number of players that historically have been slow out of the gate. Hopefully they’ll hit normal January form this January, instead of losing 2 1/2 months while getting in gear.

This slow start thing has been going on for just about 8 to 9 years. I think we broke that trend last year with AV and hope it continues this season.

I just called Spectrum to cancel the NHL netwaork since the tourney ended and it cost me $2.75 pro rated for the month. Best couple of bucks i ever spent.

While i was on i added the NHL center ice package so I'm ready for the season.
