Well it will be interesting to see how the defense stacks up this season, I just hope were not behind the 8 ball on trying to plug a hole all season.

Unless we make a big trade our defense wont be stacking up to well.
At this point it doesn't have to be huge. I just want at least 1 physical guy who plays great D and can play against other top lines. I think we have enough offense from the back end. At this point Savard looks like our best option but I don't see Columbus doing that.

Travis Hamonic fits a role of a solid defense first player but he didn't want to come to Philly

I really truly hope not. I think he would cost us too many important pieces at this point. I mean what would you be willing to part with? Ghost would just be a starter. Somewhere I heard this was a deal that would involve sending Konecny their way to.

Maine would be pretty expensive contract wise and not too mention like you said, TK? I love Laine, but shi t not at what the cost would be. If rather go all in on Elias Pettersen. Lol, not happening.

Man that would be tough to lose TK. Think they may go for a Ghost and JVR swap for Laine.:dhd:

I like Pettersson and his offense but he is really small.

Patrick accepted his qualifying offer. 1 yr - 874k. Could be a huge steal if he plays next season. Only Myers remains unsigned now.

Giroux (8.75) - Couturier (4.33) - Voracek (8.25)
Lindblom (3) - Hayes (7.14) - Konecny (5.5)
JvR (7) - Patrick (.874) - Farabee (.925)
Raffl (1.6) - Laughton (2.3) - NAK (1.075M)
Frost (.863), Laczynski (.925)

Provorov (6.75) - Braun (1.8)
Sanheim (3.25) - Gustafsson (3M)
Hagg (1.6M) - Myers (3M)
Ghost (4.5)

Hart (.730)
Elliot (1.5M)

Buyout Penalties (MacDonald, Schlemko): $2.516 -- I'd been missing this in previous iterations

Cap Total: 81.2 out of an allowable 81.5

I still believe Ghost will be traded, or at least that the Flyers are doing everything they can to trade him.

Agreed. I expect to be sad when it happens too, because I don't think the return is going to be anything special.

With the cap situation of most teams, 4.5M is too big of a hit to take a flier on a guy rediscovering his game.
