So it's boring at work, no one is posting today so I was thinking bigger draft need this year.

DT

or

TE

I know a lot of people think TE and there are two in this draft I like, but I feel the greater need is DT. This team has lacked consistent pressure up the middle since Vince left. We are getting to the QB with a lot of specialized blitz packages and some great LB play. If we could get an earth moving DT that would sure allow our LBs a lot more options.

What say you all? Also keep in mind I don't think we have a second round pick this year?
Why use the distinction "Draft Need" vs just "Need"? Does it matter how the need is fulfilled? I point this out mostly in relation to the draft process where just a need alone is rarely the complete story. Where a secondary need may be filled first because of names left on the board and opportunities left within a draft.

Of course there is free agent signings, trades and to a lesser extent, UDF signings (where the Pats probably have scored better than any other team).

“Well, again, the whole draft need thing is – I don’t really understand that. You put a card up on the board. That doesn’t mean the guy is a good player. I think it’s important to acquire good players wherever they are. If you take a player at a position that you might so-called ‘need’ but he’s not good enough to fill that need, then it’s a wasted pick. So, I don’t understand the whole need thing. I understand player value, and that’s what we try to go by.”
Bill Belichick on drafting for need.

I vote for offensive linemen, lots of them.
Then whittle down to the good ones.

Top priority is a LT. Pats also need a center. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt Andrews comes back. Fix that oline and Brady and the offense looks much better. Damn near all of that defense is under contract next year.

Thuney is a FA. Cannon is always needing a few weeks off the heal. We have no idea if Wynn can play or even stay healthy enough to play. Offensive line will be a critical need.

Tom Brady is FA. If Stidham doesn't get some playing time, the Pats will need an experienced QB.

Maybe the patriots can talk Gronk out of retirement. If not, they'll need to do better than Izzo and LaCosse.

2020 could be a very scary year.

Because I was speaking specifically of the draft

Could you be a bit more specific. Are you :hellno::finger2::finger2::hellno: about Gronk or are you :hellno::finger2::finger2::hellno:about Izzo and LaCosse??? Emojies are sometimes hard to understand. Then again is living in San Diego.

When text is in bold, 99% of the world knows what you are referring to. I haven't lived in SD since 2004.

So to spell it out for you. :hellno::finger2::finger2::hellno: is for selfish idiots wanting Gronk to come out of retirement.

OL with good "Blocking" TE and get back some healthy "Blocking" fullbacks back and TB will have time to throw.

Did I read there was an "unknown" WR at practice today?
