In Bennett’s case there wouldn’t’ve been any difference. Since they had acquired him in a trade, all the signing bonus acceleration stayed with the Eagles. The Pats were only on the hook for his base salary and per game bonuses, so whether they’d cut or traded him the remainder of that money comes off the cap.

salary is not the cap number but your right doesnt matter if cut or traded
