if you were the "character" coach, I would think that you'd be the first to step forward and offer assistance, not bail out.
Exactly what I thought.

I'm good with that.Marty, Gronk and one of the kids from...Iowa?
Cut Stone Hands and Hollister.
Bummer about Hollister. I really thought that kid was gonna be a major contributor.
Personally not a big fan of Marty though I wouldn't cry if they brought him back.
The same Globe report also said that he "was also uncomfortable with the situation involving owner Robert Kraft,"
How about finishing the Globe quote that said it was probably the final reason or something.
All I'm saying is that he wasn't a position coach, he was a character coach. That means he gave guidance or help to team people who needed guidance or help. I question the character of a character coach who doesn't appear to be thinking of anyone else but himself. In my opinion, a character coach would stay until the problem has dissapated...........Again, in my opinion, he's bailing because the problem that the owner has doesn't look so hot on his "Character Coach Resume".
Charges have been bumped up now and Kraft could be looking at a year of jail time.
I know everyone here is more than well aware of Tom Brady’s greatness. But here is one more tidbit for you (one that might be useful if you run into one of those people who still thinks he only wins because of Belichick’s defenses).
As many people will point out, it's a lot easier to win a playoff game as a quarterback when the other team is held to under a touchdown.
OK. So let's up the ante a bit. Or a lot, for that matter. Here are the win-loss records of the following quarterbacks in NFL playoff games when an opposing team has scored at least 28 points:
Aaron Rodgers, 1-5
Peyton Manning, 2-5
Joe Montana, 0-3
Dan Marino 1-7
John Elway 1-6
Ben Roethlisberger 0-7
Terry Bradshaw 1-3
Troy Aikman 0-2
Steve Young 1-3
Kurt Warner 2-2
Drew Brees 2-4
Fran Tarkenton 0-2
Johnny Unitas 0-0
Bart Starr 0-0
Tom Brady 6-5
That’s right. Tom Brady is now the only quarterback out of all of those guys to have a winning record in the playoffs when an opponent scores at least 28 points. Brady is also the onlyquarterback out of that group to have more than two wins in such a situation.
But wait. There’s more.
Out of Brady’s six playoff wins under such circumstances, four came during a season in which not a single offensive teammate of his made the Pro Bowl. The four games include Super Bowl XXXVIII, Super Bowl LI, and his two playoff wins against the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs at the end of the 2018 season.
Of all the other quarterbacks listed above, not a single one can make the claim of ever having won even one playoff game that involved both 1) the opponent scoring 28-plus points and 2) the quarterback’s own offense not featuring at least one other Pro Bowl player besides himself.
Just something to think about.
Another crazy playoff stat for the GOAT proving that he is the GOAT

You are late to the party! LOL
I don't know if that is the case at all, but for you to sit here and judge this guy for stepping down after he has been with that organization through thick and thin says more about your character than his.

Opening a spot for Marty B?@AdamSchefter
Patriots have informed tight end Dwayne Allen that they are releasing him, per source. They have expressed an interest in signing him back for less money, but he will be free.
