I don’t know why you are hung up on the $20 million.

My hypothetical assumes TT is available, meaning a free agent, and willing to play for a similar contract that Boogie signed.

Which is obviously not reality.
I tried, but he thinks a hypothetical involving time travel is more realistic.

Really is a shame it cannot be done between the 2 teams. As long as Gilbert would get past helping Lebron (and I think he would to help his own team) could be a win-win for both.

Someone else said it's nuts but I disagree....I could see something with NO with them having a ton of extra picks and perhaps some redundant players. Problem is if Zion can't shoot (not saying we know he can't) might not be a good fit with TT.

nah...I've checked it out further. You might be right. Most of these threads are just with agreeable fellas. I've gone back and found many arguments with me and no one else involved.

I'll try to be better.

Gilbert willing to spend more than Arison was also obviously an issue with LeBron. Gilbert/Griffin re-upping TT and then JR after the ship was due to a confluence of circumstances---- especially JR...but it is what it is at this point.

I read that the Cavs had interest in Clarkson and Thompson this offseason, but decided to wait - because (i) the value of the leadership that Thompson brings, (ii) other teams might be willing to give up more at the deadline for those 2 guys.

I would think, especially if the Cavs took back a bad contract, that trading say- Thompson and Clarkson- 2 guys that could absolutely be hugely helpful to a contender, could bring back a pretty nice asset. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

if you were a contender, and had an injury or two, and really needed to fill out your playoff rotation but did not want to take on long-term salary commitments, i couldnt imagine much more of a better fit than guys like Clarkson and Thompson. Clarkson would be great instant offense, and a guy that could make plays, while Thompson would give you vast amounts of playoff experience, professionalism, rebounding, great screen setter, and toughness--- plus as we saw over and over- extra possessions in close post season games by getting offensive boards are really invaluable.

I hope the Cavs really play those 2 quite a bit, get their values up to a nice level, and explore what they could get via the trade market around the deadline. The Spurs were supposedly interested in Thompson- which doesnt surprise me since he kind of seems like a Pop type of player.

just out of curiosity have you been following Browns training camp at all?

They def. need to figure out the right guard situation, and the kicker situation, but holy shit does this team look ready to make some noise this year.

The offensive weapons - in just 2 short years went from the worst in the league to maybe the best in the league. I love that dorsey somehow got a 3rd round pick for Duke Johnson when the going rate for running backs on the trade market has been no where close to that.

Higgins has stepped up big time.

Its funny that the Browns did a very similar thing to the Cavs.......Sashi Brown purposefully let go of guys like Mitchell Schwartz, Alex Mack, etc....traded down in the draft multiple times, passed on guys like Watson, Wentz etc. because he knew the Browns were not ready.....

they get 2 #1 overall picks, hit on both of them......hit on the #4 overall pick they got from the Texans in Denzel Ward--- and here we are.

Steelers are always tough and, regretably, I have to admit a very well run organization...and Baltimore is always well run and well coached....but right now its clear that on paper the Browns have more talent than either of those teams.

its gonna take a lot going from on-paper to on the field to win this division, but with a leader like Baker they definitely have a shot.

Gun to my head I would bet they win the division this year which is crazy to say considering where they were at 2 years ago.

I know this was a few weeks ago, but i actually saw it for the first time last night:

Michael Beasley's suspension result of early-season failed drug test while he was away from Lakers, report says

oh man...just cracks me up how right I can be. Already suspended for the first five games of the NBA season before the season even starts.

Tristan Thompson does not have NEARLY the pure talent of a guy like Beasley- but I coudlnt imagine one coach in the league preferring a headache like this guy over a tough, professional, team-oriented guy like Thompson.

I saw Browns were in third tier of odds to win super bowl.

Prob 8th or 9th overall favorite.

On paper they have much more then Ravens and Steelers.

No excuse, and he’s not very smart, but the test result was from during the time off he took when his mother was in final stages of cancer.

The fact he’s still in the NBA is obviously because of his talent.

He chose the NBA, but he could have taken 5M to go back to China.

You didn’t answer first time, so let’s try again.
Is hot girl choosing you or Beasley?

I've seen them even higher than that. While I do have high hopes I just can't see that as a good value play.

ill defend myself, but what the usual, almost standard, sequence of posts goes--- I rip on a team like the Lakers or Heat for doing something stupid-- i dunno, something dumb like the Whtieside contract or Deng or mozgov, or some stupid draft pick etc, coaching hire, or bungled coaching search, stupid trade etc. , Laker or Heat fan with pea brain and no ability to make a basketball argument takes a personal shot at me for making a post about basketball, and I then defend myself from said personal shot. Happens over and over again.

TurnUp already proved you're a lying sack of shit...

done...

When are futures ever good value plays?
Casinos know that fans will come in and take a shot on their team even at terrible odds.

Michael Beasley Is Here to Blow Your Mind

i mean just look at this interview. If you are a gold digger and impressed by a guy spouting nonsense that wears 3 watches- one around his ankle, then sounds like the guy for you.

If you are into someone more mentally stable, not addicted to weed that can put together a coherent sentence and takes his profession seriously...probably not.

but being in miami you might be used to the gold-digger type.

News flash for you.
Kids that grow up under the circumstances Beasley did, don't turn into WORLD CLASS athletes without a great work ethic and ambition.
How many end up rotting in jail?
His biggest fault is smoking weed?
Only person it hurt was him, and he's still doing just fine.
