I think clearly they only care about the Olympics now. So what if the US loses a 'World Cup' in 2019?

It is a terrible look....which is obvious

Team USA is used to winning the World Cup and Olympics.

Losing the World Cup will never be ok.

explained it way too often...

but i'll start with "the King" and "the Chosen One"...

that kinda arrogance turned me off the guy from day 1...

Yeah sorry I didn't realize you'd heard that question many times before.

I'm not a fan of LeBron, either. I like to see him lose sometimes so he realizes he's just another human like the rest of us.

There isn't a single top 15 player on team USA roster. Man I hope they lose just so I can see all these loser players who withdrew bitch on social media how it won't happen again and etc as they did following the 2004 Olympics.

Players that have committed
  • Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics)
  • Mason Plumlee (Denver Nuggets)
  • Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics)
  • Thaddeus Young (Chicago Bulls)
  • Harrison Barnes (Sacramento Kings)
  • Kyle Kuzma (Los Angeles Lakers)
  • Brook Lopez (Milwaukee Bucks)
  • Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors)
  • Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks)
  • Donovan Mitchell (Utah Jazz)
  • Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics)
  • P.J. Tucker (Houston Rockets)
  • Myles Turner (Indiana Pacers)
  • Kemba Walker (Boston Celtics)
  • Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat)

I think its kinda bullshit with so many dropping out. At the same time, its also sorta on FIBA. They pushed back the date of the tournament to where it ends just a couple of weeks before NBA camps start. Any last bit of vacation for the players is basically nil at that point. If they had it in July, they could come in, do their thing, and still be able to enjoy some time before the real deal starts.

What a hometown discount. This Max is much more reasonable than the max he could have commanded after the season. If he got an all nba spot or won dpoy he could have been eligible for 5yrs 225M. 4 years at 25M per is likely the best outcome for both parties without either getting upset at the free agent process.

He is not a max player and had a lot to do with KD leaving.

I think being around all those injures (2 Achilles and an ACL) got him spooked too.
Something to be said for this, but as mentioned I think a lot of these guys play in high level summer rec leagues or even pickup. Would think just as likely they get hurt in these games. Maybe more likely without having the same training staff around.

Yeah.

The guys that were scheduled to play should have declined sooner.

But, the guys that were a late 4th round pick for THE SELECT TEAM?

Fug outta here.

Those kids got asked to participate last week.

I'm sure they already had summer plans.

Plus, the ones willing to play are correct.

It sucks elephant balls that they will just be cast aside for the Olympics when the bigger named guys decide to play.

It is a bad look.

But, losing was the catalyst for change last time it happened.

Maybe guys will take it seriously again.

Dropping out less than a week away from the camp/tryouts is a bit ridiculous

Oh, I agree.

The thing that bothers me most is that it gives the impression that these guys are scared to compete.

If the odds of winning gold are not heavily stacked in their favor, they don't want to play.

That's the buddy, buddy me too generation we live in.

A few top guys bow out, the rest fall like fucking dominoes.

My inside sources told me you tested positive for the Sticky Icky & got kicked off the team.

It was the result of 2nd hand smoke. I was hanging out with Michael Beasley that weekend.

lol didn't picture you as the karaoke type...

is fun, though...

Have you ever been? I've sung in the private karaoke rooms, but never sung in front of an audience at the bar, I was too much of chicken shit and most of the singers that perform are usually pretty good so I know I would look like a fool.
