Probably longer most likely.....it's the Cavs and a prime athlete like James isn't walking through that door anytime soon.
You mean the guy who LA needed to save them?

Or what happens first:

A. Cavs win a playoff game, or

B. @WiggyRuss sees a vagina thats not on the internet or made of plastic.

Miami Heat (Previously 18th)

I can’t tell if this feels too low for Miami or if this feels just right. Upgrading to Jimmy Butler when they didn’t have the cap space to acquire him is pretty remarkable. They might still have another move in them to acquire Chris Paul from OKC. While acquiring CP3’s contract looks like a bad gamble and allocation of money, they’d still be acquiring a very good point guard for next season. That’s pretty important. Miami feels like health kept them from being a playoff team. They also feel like the subtraction of Hassan Whiteside will be a huge boost for them on and off the court.

They just need to figure out what they can get from the complementary parts to Butler. Dion Waiters is in shape. If he remains on the team, will he have the right attitude to be a Sixth Man type of weapon the Heat can rely on? Was Justise Winslow’s progression as a playmaker a glimpse into the future? Can Bam Adebayo handle full-time starting center duties? Do the Heat have enough shooting on this roster? They’re definitely in a better, more focused place than they were a year ago. Their cap situation is looking better, unless they acquire CP3. Erik Spoelstra is an excellent coach and he has a real weapon to gameplan around this season. It’s possible they challenge for a top 4 seed in the East.

Blah blah blah. The team knew it from the start; last season was a throw-away with maybe a playoff appearance but no real title shot due to PG getting short-sighted in OKC. Keep acting like the Lakers thought they had assembled the crew they wanted if that helps you sleep at night.

Ingram a hot head asshole? If anything, he is too meek and unassuming.

Lebron got hurt on a misstep that pulled his groin, nothing more. Team effort was beating the Warriors that day, and the team was in playoff position, albeit with a long stretch to go.

Ball turned his ankle when checked/shoved on a cut. Not a repeated injury, not injury prone.

Kids had a negative reaction to the trade talks, but that was only for a few days. Ingram's production spiked after the all-star game until his blood clot issue put him out for the season. Ball was trending upwards prior to his injury. Kuzma's 3% was a step back from the previous season, but still was otherwise effective all season (within his limitations).

Some day you have to get over the fact that Lebron left your Cavs for the Lakers. He isn't going to change his mind. Move on.

Rondo was decent offensively, but a real problem defensively.
yah...losing 10 out of 11 games including losses to the Knicks, Suns, Grizzlies and Knicks was just an aberration. lol....sorry about that. It could not have possibly been the construction of the roster was ridiculously stupid and the young guys were shitting themselves.

I mean big surprises--- injury prone guys get injured, and young players that were overdrafted failed to live up to unrealistic expectations, and LeBron, after playing all 82 regular season games and 20 playoff games gets hurt because he has no one around him to take the load off.

From Jason Lloyd- i think its a great encapsulation of what the Cavs will be this season:

This season is about developing Sexton and Garland, figuring out if those two can play together, seeing what you have in Dylan Windler and Kevin Porter Jr. and then bundling some of these veterans on expiring deals and trying to cash them in for future assets. It isn't sexy. It won't sell a lot of tickets. But it's their reality.

To my knowledge, no, they did not seriously entertain the idea. Nor should they have. This team isn't ready to contend and adding a personality like Westbrook could've been a disaster even with his strong ties to Love. The Cavs are doing exactly what they should be doing: taking on bad money for future assets, developing youngesters ... and losing a lot of games in between.

Maybe you should suck the guy off who wrote it.

Put your VCash where your mouth is.
You wont, cause you know you’ll lose.

You just don't seem to get it, or just don't want to. Last season was a bridge. Those "overdrafted" kids were always intended as trade bait to bring back a star, and they did. At most, the Lakers might've had a round or two of playoff games; the expectations weren't high. All those one year contracts allowed the Lakers to completely rebuild their roster (and could've netted Kawhi as well; it was his decision whether or not to come, no limitations due to cap space), which was the intent when PG stayed in OKC and the Spurs wouldn't trade Kawhi to LA.

Don't worry, some day a star player will either be forced onto the Cavs again via the draft or trade. It could happen.

The Lakers last year wanted to develop their young core and also be a contender. Trying to accomplish both goals at the same time is a conflict and their season was ultimately doomed because of it. The moment they decided to sign Lebron, the Lakers should have been in contender mode. Wasting what could have been one of Lebron’s last good years left was a travesty. The Lakers were waiting around like this was 23 year old Lebron. The Lakers just aren’t a smart basketball organization anymore.

I was the one that said they were always intended as trade bait---- i had every Laker fan and their brother saying - OHHH NOO this time is different--- LeBron wont ask for the young kids to be traded - he wants to play with them!!! they will listen to LeBron but he isnt controlling this front office!!!

all of which was complete horse shit as we know today.

My thoughts, and the the thoughts of MANY other people- were that the signings to fill out the roster were ridiculously stupid ---- signing a bunch of malcontents that cant shoot set the team up for its eventual failure more than any other single factor.

how about kiss my ass?

I said from day one- Tristan will get more guaranteed money than Whiteside and ill bet anyone that wants to take the bet.

Its a stupid premise.
TT very well might be happy with a longer term, lower dollar deal, because he knows his ceiling and is happy to grind out another X amount guaranteed.

Whiteside has a much higher ceiling and might want to leave his future options more open.

I even offered to bet you both ways, correct?
Split the difference.
Not sure why you are worried so much about fake money.
