well, WiggityWack gave us his personal guarantee that the Cavs will be back in the title mix in less than 7 years...

so the countdown has begun...:dhd:

Sounds about right.

Yep.....after tanking. Thanks for playing again.

Oh, and the Cavs also tanked and signed Lebron and traded for Love (Lakers adopted Cavs' model?). If Lakers are lucky, they can have similar results.....though after 7 years and not 4.

The Lakers weren't tanking, they just weren't that good.

Says a guy whose only teams with a shot at a title was acquired by sucking and getting a top 5 pick.

And why did they suck?
I said if it happens, it happens.
You guys just know you are going to suck, then try to justify it as a good thing, even though history shows it has never been a good thing for you except getting LeBron.

People thinking that the Lakers were actually purposefully tanking are just flat out stupid. You could see they were trying, they just weren't that good at putting a competitive roster together.

gotta agree...

big difference between tanking and flat-out sucking...

Hell yeah they were tankng. Just look at the evidence.

-LeBron (their bestest player by the way) missed games
-the starting PG missed games
-the back up PG missed games
-the start SF missed games

There could even be more players that missed time during the season but my point is they tanked.

Miami tried to remain competitive by getting Brian Grant and Anthony Mason to team up with Eddie Jones, Tim Hardaway and Zo. Zo just happened to go down with a kidney disease that torpedo'd that team from going at a title. Miami didn't purposefully tank, we were dealt shit luck and got a consolation out of it.

Heat-Knicks had some knockdown dragout games and series....

Those were probably my most die-hard days as a Heat fan. I almost cried when Alan Houston sank that shot in 99' against the Heat. Happy that going forward the Heat had the better future and it all went down hill for the Knicks from that moment.

I think it was you saying how great it was for NFL players that their franchise tag salary was guaranteed maybe?

If so, the "huh" was because they'd prefer not to be franchised.
I didn’t say it was better I said it only worked for the NFL, not the players. The set up is what made it a “plausible” option for the players as a consolation considering there’s no guaranteed contracts.

Even when they had those players they weren't very good

LeBron came back, declared playoff mode activation because he was perfectly healthy and ready to do his best, and proceeded to lose almost every single game

What will be your new excuses for next year? Like every team doesn't have injuries lol
