Gentry was active.

I'm guessing he got a helmet due to Chickillo being inactive....VWill, Nix, Buggs, were the others aside from VMac.

Damn. Mack being released is interesting. Don't know if they'd move Gentry down though. Seems like it was just as straight up swap with Vannett for X. Definitely an upgrade. Releasing Mack is likely just an indication that the move was made before they knew they could get Vannett. An insurance policy. Because they still have Rader & CSW on the PS.

Don't believe there is anything more to this story. He's set to hit FA next offseason anyways. Makes no difference in cutting him now vs letting him walk in 4 months. It's not cutthroat to toss him out onto the streets while he's rehabbing because they paid the man extra to do so. They gave him the money to go rehab.
