A real backbreaking loss for the Pacers. They go home but they probably need to win both if they want to win or compete for this series

"It's not a series until someone loses a home game" or however that saying goes. The way they lost hurts of course, but both games were decided by one bad quarter on the road.

Yeah 2 quarters killed them. Going back to Boston down 3-1 gives them little hope though. They just don't have enough firepower without Oladipo. They are a very good home team though so we will see.

They have to win both games to have a chance. Honestly the same is true of the Nets and Magic are in the same boat, IMO.

"Allow"? Pretty sure an NBA team can get a wide open 3 if they move the ball around nearly any time they want.

True.

But usually not with the guy the offensive team wants shooting it.

Those are actually not common at all in end of game situations

Probably, but depends. Truth be told I don't know what shot you are referring to but guessing Boston is OK with Kyrie, Heyward or tatum taking it late. Maybe Horford? If they have just 1 stud shooter? different story.

Teams without a go-to scoring option are gonna tend to have those "bad quarters" or whatever, though... especially in the playoffs where the defensive intensity goes up... that's Indy's problem without Oladipo.

Hard to see much hope for them in this series. {knock on wood}

Is the Sabonis kid for Indy related to the older Sabonis?

Arvydas Sabonis was a great player.

by the time he finally got to the NBA, he was an old man whose body was pretty much destroyed by injuries/wear and tear. in his prime, many folks consider him the best big man of all time. granted, he was playing european competition but many insist on it.

One of the best big men of all-time is a HUGE stretch. Great player and one of the greatest passing big men of all-time. Short career bc of those nagging injuries too

He was basically a super-Jokic, but he was like everyone says, too old when he got here. Still pretty good even then.
