Kawhi and Giannis are both #1's on great teams. The point is there are still AS caliber players past that top 5 in every draft, it's just about finding them. Klay is still a huge part of the Warriors dynasty, you need those type of players on your team regardless.

Most drafts maybe, but not every draft.

Most drafts maybe, but not every draft.

I'm not talking about getting a star, I mean an AS caliber player or a really nice starter. Some drafts just take longer to develop those players into AS caliber players. All those listed below are AS caliber players. 2014 draft is the only question mark. Gordon and Embiid are those players but they were in the top 5, other than that not much in that draft. So very rare to not find an AS caliber type of player not in the top 5 SOMEWHERE in the draft.

2017 draft - Mitchell at 13 (AS caliber)
2016 draft - Hield at 6, Murray at 7, LeVert at 20
2015 draft - Booker at 13 (AS caliber)
2014 draft - maybe eventually.
2013 draft - McCollum at 10, Giannis at 15 (star)
2012 draft - Lillard at 6 (star),
2011 draft - Kemba at 9, Klay at 11, Kawhi at 15 (star), Vucevic at 16, Tobias Harris at 19, Butler at 30
2010 draft - Cousins at 5, Hayward at 9, PG at 10 (star)

If you call them facts there must be some proof of it.

How about a direct quote for starters?

How about an entire career of doing exactly that.
He left his hometown team because he knew he’d never win a title with the roster they had and no players would sign on with Cleveland.
He then jumped ship from the Heat, because the guys he was playing with were getting older and battling injuries and he knew he’d never win another title there.
So he went back to Cleveland. Not because it was his hometown, but because they had 3 #1 picks, one was a star and they could use the other two to trade for another star in Love.
He left there to go to LA, who this year will have money to add max players, but the one place you don’t hear players to be rumored to go is LA (outside of the recent talk about Kyrie)

If you think he is in LA to play out the rest of his career as a punching bag to the elite west teams, you are kidding yourself.

Had me up until LA narrative...he wanted to go to LA. End of story.

That's because the media has used the Lakers as a punchline this year. It doesn't fit their narrative. AD also wanted to go to LA, but not as a FA (yet). There are rumors that Kawhi does as well.

No doubt...I get they want to get rid of tanking, but really what can teams in our market do to get a megastar?
Just arrange for the next megastar to be born in NE Ohio. In 20 years you're all set!

It will be interesting to see how AD, KD, and Zion play together next year.

Yeah but the Warriors depth will be tested trading Iguodala, Jerebko and Bell for Zion and AD

I'm not a GM. I'm sure Knicks would offer more if it means getting AD
I mean, teams have hired friends, signed brother's, cousins and college teammates to appease their Star players.

It's really not that hard to imagine Zion turning his frown upside down if he gets to play with Barrett.

Barrett, DSJ, Knox and fellow Louisiana resident , Robinson, is a decent return to keep him out of the West.

So no proof. Just speculation by gullible people like yourself.

Gotcha.

You forgot the spurs Murray in 2016. And Siakam.

Both aren't AS caliber yet, could be soon though. Regardless, really nice young players

If they offer all of that, it is an intriguing offer, and the biggest challenge to a Lakers offer thus far.

The Celtics have more to offer than the lakers.

...but won't. No Kyrie, no AD extension. No AD extension, no offer including Tatum. No offer including Tatum, no AD trade to Celtics.

If Ainge wants to blindly trade Tatum for AD anyway, he can then watch AD leave next summer. That would be fun.

Lol at people that think the lottery is not rigged. When a team wins the lotto multiple times then I call bullshit. Pelicans landed AD and now the best prospect since AD? The Lakers move from 11 to 4 and we are to think something is not shady just because the Lakers did not get the 1st pick?
