2019 NBA Lottery And Draft

The lottery will take place on May 19th, in Chicago which is not that far away and I didn't see a thread so for the rest of us mortals that don't have their favorite team in the playoffs, its time to talk about the choices. In a recent mock draft had the Lakers at 11 and Brandon Clark. @trojanfan12 If you can sticky this - Much appreciated

Not for this years draft, but I just heard something very interesting on the Petros and Money Show.

They were interviewing former UCLA and NBA player Don McClean who runs a camp where he helps players prepare for the NBA draft.

He has both LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball in his current group.

He said that LaMelo (especially for only being 17) is actually a much better player than McClean thought he'd be. He said he's worked hard all week and he was very surprised at how good he is. Says he'll likely be playing overseas next year.

He really didn't say anything about LiAngelo.

It's the time of year where the playoffs are front and center, but teams are also preparing for the lottery and draft as well.

Yeah but he has the 19th in thread.....and 3 weeks is a ways out to start a thread like this. Usually, these threads get started a few days to day of event. Maybe a week but 3 weeks early seems extreme.

Well, it's TLF. Of course he got the date wrong. He also originally had the thread title as the 2018 draft until I fixed it for him. lol

Like I said, it's a little early, but not egregiously early.

Simple solution. If you don't think it should be posted until a week before, don't post in it until a week before. lol

The site I saw said May 19th, but perhaps I didn't look at it long enough - either way that is only three weeks away.

The Mock draft I was just looking at has him going about 24th and the Spurs at 29th getting Grant Williams. Seems like to me the Spurs should have a higher seeding though.

They also have a pick in the 18-21 range I believe. They have 2 first round picks this year since the trade with Toronto.

It's going to be a sad day for the Spurs organization and fans when Popovich retires. He seems to make the best moves for the most part.

This. The Spurs have their own pick at #19 and the Raptors pick at #29 (Kawhi trade).
