I got some really great news a couple weeks ago and since then have been incredibly busy...and then i got sick yesterday.....didnt even check my fantasy baseball teams the last few days.

i actually totally forgot about the lotto yesterday until like 11 pm when i finally checked and was utterly disappointed. I feel like hell. I am at work today but am not gonna make it very long.

Yeah tough draft but I think there are a lot of nice options that could drop to 5. Garland (possibly), Culver and Hunter.

Why?

He got to have an early vacation, the team gets the #4 pick and he's making a fortune in Hollywood.

Or is it because you're butthurt?

Reason #1 why he will be looking to get out of LA is the fact, he didn’t even make the playoffs this past year.

Reason #2 he isn’t young anymore and only has a few years left to chase a title and that is all that LeBron is worried about — see jumping ship from Cleveland to Miami, back to Cleveland and now to LA.

Reason #3 the coach is gone, Magic Johnson is gone and LA has no direction on where they are going. They have a hodge podge of players — none of them who fit the mold of what LeBron needs to succeed.

Reason #4 the big FA class seems to be rumored going everywhere but to the Lakers. So who knows if LA is able to sign a player, though I’ve heard rumors of Kyrie to LA, but unless LA could dump Ball on another team — it’s make no sense.

And I don’t know where ‘butthurt’ came from — I am just pointing out facts. If LAL was a contender in the West — James wouldn’t want to go anywhere. If they are unable to get one of the top FA’s to sign with them — James will be demanding a trade ASAP. He won’t be wasting the last couple years missing the playoffs or being fodder for the top teams in the West. No chance.

Well Coby White is there at 6. The Suns from reports seem to really love Lonzo, if they think he is better than a guy like White then sure they would do the trade. I guess it depends who is OTB, but they need a PG BAD.

They do. But Lonzo is going into his 3rd year so they would have fewer cost controlled years with him and while he has shown signs of growth injuries have been a real problem for him and stunted his potential growth. And that doesn't even factor in his father issues. I would be surprised to see a team willing to trade a lottery pick for him.

Get ready for a lot of 3’s and an incredibly patient offense with a lot of ball movement, but it gets you a lot of open looks.

Also, a team who will not turn the ball over much.

Beilein is a tremendous coach and getting his players to buy into his coaching and developing guards. I will miss him dearly at UM.

Yeah well the Suns seem to really love him. Ball was a better rebounder, passer and shooter coming into the NBA than White is. White is a better scorer overall.
Garland might not be there at 6.

Yeah, and we have a history of trading with the Suns. Although, last time we got screwed.....this time it'd turn out better for us IMO.

This seems to be a common refrain for Laker fans.

If the Celtics keep Kyrie and want to make a run for a title next year, then they make the trade. Honestly, I think most teams believe that once you bring in a player and they have success with the team, they will want to stay.

Do you honestly see any way that Kyrie stays in Boston?

I read that the new season does not officially start until the first day of free agency.

Where did you read that? That would mean that trades couldn't happen until free agency since the trade deadline for the 2018-2019 season was in April.

It sounds like he will fit perfect in the NBA, all they do is shoot 3's now. Sounds like the Warriors offensive scheme minus the turnovers, that's what Cleveland needs. I think he will help develop these youngers players which is a huge key.

I don't think that they will keep Kyrie. But I am far from certain on that. I also believe that Ainge is one of the craftiest GMs in basketball and I have no idea what he plans to do.

I don't believe for one second that he just sit back and meekly accept being an also ran.

Wonder if they could trade Lonzo for a high pick this year? If that is possible. I mean whether they draft Garland or sign Irving I don't think they need Lonzo. I think he eventually be gone bc I wouldn't say the fit with Lebron is a match made in heaven.

I think Lebron likes the kid. He had him on his HBO show and seems to be taking him under his wing a bit.

Suns can get White at #6 more than likely, unless LAL take him. No reason for them to give up #6 for Ball. White/Garland project to be much better than Ball at this point.

Much better at what? Scoring/shooting, sure.

I suspect that is true. And I really have no idea what the Celtics are even thinking.

If Kyrie leaves and they do nothing they are doomed to also ran status for the foreseeable future. If Kyrie leaves and Horford opts out they could theoretically bring in a top tier free agent but there is tremendous risk in doing that.

I can't imagine Horford opting out of that money. It does seem that Rozier wants out too though, so the Celtics could be in dire need of PGs.

I would be surprised if Horford left but not shocked. He isn't going to get that kind of money again, most likely, most he clearly has tremendous value and he could wind up being offered a 2 or 3 year deal that would be for more money.

Cavs drafted with 2 #1 picks Lebron James and Kyrie Irving, Tristan and Waiters (when healthy) both ended up very good as well as Danny Green.

Lakers drafted with 2 #2 picks Lonzo Bust and Brandon Ingram lost Dangelo Russell and Randle who were also not superstars.

Don't worry about our drafting lol

You're propping up Waiters while busting all of the Lakers picks? Yeah, no homerism there lol. Waiters over Lillard lol.

LOL at including Danny Green. He played 20 games for the Cavs then was waived. Yeah, they loved that pick.

Maybe. He was bent out of shape by the coaches and preferential treatment for Hayward and Kyrie. Kyrie may have been the biggest problem for Rozier, but not the only one.

In the end, he's a restricted free agent. The Celtics can match any offer. He can makes things uncomfortable to do so though.

I'm interested in knowing what makes you think joining the moribund LA Lakers was a "win-now" move in Lebron's mind.

At best, he may have hoped to sneak into the WCF where he expected the Warriors would obliterate them and even then it would've been a harder battle to get there than anything Lebron's faced since 2010 outside of the NBA Final.

If he was still in title-at-all-costs mode he would not be a Laker right now. I'm sure he'd love to be competitive again but he's happy just living in paradise, doing his side gigs and being as far away from Dan Gilbert as league geography allows.
