Don't know why the media is characterizing the Lakers FO of doing everything now in a panic but the Lakers have added four UDFA's: Jordon Caroline, Aric Holman, Devontae Cacok, and of course the aforementioned Zach Norvell. Don't know if any of these dudes are going to make the active roster or just do a stint in the G-League this summer?

I chose not to read to much of these stories. I want to see what additions they add in free agency. It is too early to get pissed. We got AD. That is a positive no matter how it came about.

I've read a couple of them. It's the same recycled crap. None of them provide any different information or have any quotes from anyone within the organization or who was part of the negotiations.

Besides, the Lakers got a top 5 player to add to another top 5 player. So they win the trade regardless.

More rumors circulating that D. Russell is warming-up to the idea of coming back to the Lakers (Lake Show Life). If there is any truth to any of it, that would be a def move in the right direction for the better. Then if the Lakers added Brook Lopez, I would have a tendency to think the Lakers have turned a much-needed positive corner.

I hope this true and that D. Russell is added to the Lakers roster for the 2019-2020 season.

Yeah, it's funny how things change in the NBA. Just a few days ago I posted that I saw a report saying that he wasn't interested and said something along the lines of the Lakers not being "part of his legacy."

Now, I had just heard on Dan Patrick that, with Magic gone, he may be open to considering it.

The problem will be that a max deal for him would be $27 million and as of right now, the Lakers look like they'll have $24 - 28 million depending on whether or not AD will waive his trade bonus.

Yep TJF12. Russell has indeed changed his mind when Magic left and now he is considering returning. That would be a coup IMO. It would also force the Lakers to consider the notion presently being floated of running much of this coming season with a 10-man roster.

The concept seems far-fetched but the numbers are restrictive at this point especially if the Lakers sign Russell. It was only a few short seasons ago that the Lakers had big bucks to throw around. Geez, how things have changed.

If Russell doesn't sign, there are a number of scenarios that include FA players that would increase the active roster a bit. Veteran players like: Brook Lopez, Danny Green, Bobby Portis, Seth Curry, Dwayne Dedmon, Nerleans Noel, Javale McGee, Marcus Morris, Joakim Noah, Malcolm Brogdon, Al Horford, Kenneth Faried, Rajon Rondo, and Patrick Bevereley would all come into play as possible signees after the completion of the AD deal July 6.

Obviously we can't sign them all but for many, the drop-off in talent is not too restrictive whereby Lebron and Davis can get their game-by-game rest. Things are starting to look-up and depending on whether Pelinka moves the contracts of Bonga, Wagner, and Jones and whether Russell signs or not, will determine how many of the players listed above will be future Lakers.

BTW, most folks believe Kyrie will sign with Brooklyn and Kemba Walker is going to stay in NC. Also, the pursuit of Butler is dying rapidly as we cannot afford him and it would make way better sense on a number of levels to use the available monies to sign some of the players I already listed.

Lost in all of the scuttlebutt about DeAngelo Russell returning to the Lakers is the fact that Russell was sacrificed to clean-up Short Buss's mess of two albatross contracts of Mosgov and Deng. It had to be done or we would have paid a very heavy price.

Now that Magic is doing his "fun thing", as he puts it, where he can play and still be around the Lakers, his mea Culpa has been issued to the public in hopes of luring Russell back. It just may work.

To be fair, they added a couple of pretty nice pieces for their money. lol

Both the names of J.R Smith and now today Carmelo Anthony are being floated as players headed to the Lakers to play with the new duo and possibly the third star in DeAngelo Russell. I think those two players would be a waste of money and time to bring them in to take-up a roster spot and are being floated in the meaning so some "journalistic" jackass can earn his/her paycheck. Didn't we learn anything with people like Deng, Beasley, and to some extent Stephenson and Chandler?

BTW, the Lakers have extended qualifying offers to Alex Caruso and Johnathan Williams. All this talk of moving Bonga, Wagner, Jones is probably by the same journalistic jackasses trying to make a living.

I'm not big on signing JR or Melo, but there is a big difference between them and the others you mentioned.

The main thing being that both can shoot.

Neither is nearly as good as they used to be, but shooters can always shoot. The Lakers need to fill the roster somehow. So, if they are willing to accept low contracts and limited playing time...I don't really see an issue.

They need to extend one to Bullock.

I agree TJF12. If the jackass reports about J.R.Smith potentially re-uniting with LeBron are true, the Lakers would do themselves a huge favor by re-signing Bullock. We gave up Mykhailiuk for that guy. Stick with him and let him ply his long-ball trade for cryin' out loud.
