We are fast becoming the dumping grounds for failed ex-head coaches. Since adding Lionel Hollins, the rumor is that Jeff Hornacek is being considered for hire.

Another player that will be available on June 30th is none other than D'Angelo Russell. Many articles indicating where he is headed but that would be interesting if he ended back with the Lakers.
With Magic and Nick gone, I can see that as possible.

Here is a testimony from the eyes of Raja Rondo on the inside of the Lakers 2018-2019 season. Apparently much of the reported speculation about what was and is going on in Lakerland has more confirmation with this article. Interesting read though and for sure, every testimony of this stuff does contain subjective bias. This article is probably no different but there was/is obvious shit going on in that locker room and in the FO.

Good article, but other than showing that Rondo reacted like a professional, it really doesn't have any new information.

I heard an interview with a former NBA player a little while back who said that part of the problem for the Lakers with the AD trade debacle was, in a way, too many young guys.

He said that when you first start hearing your name in trade rumors, it's really hard to deal with. You don't really understand that it's about business, so it feels personal and can have a negative effect.

He also said that when it's just a couple of young guys, vets can get to them and kind of "talk them off the ledge". But when you have as many "kids" as the Lakers do, it's harder to get to them, plus they talk to and feed off of each other.

Gonna be an interesting off-season. Hopefully, they'll get their shit together.

Apparently the list of trade destinations, at least from AD's perspective, is down to just the Lakers and the Knicks. Wow.

Maybe the Pels GM and that airhead owner will now pull a reasonable trade without gutting our entire roster. I hope.

LOL! Lookes like AD isn't interested in Beantown long-term. Too funny.

Yeah, according to Woj, the Lakers are the clubhouse leader for AD.

Of course, Woj said the same thing about PG-13 last year and we saw what happened (although I bet he's regretting it a little). He's as good as it gets, but even he is wrong sometimes.

I say the number four this year, Ingram, Hart, and Bonga, for AD.

Supposedly, the Pels would like 2 first rounders this year. There has been talk that the Suns and Bulls like Lonzo.

If I'm the Lakers, I'm calling Griffin and asking "Do you want Lonzo or another pick?"

If they want the pick, I'm on the phone with the Suns and/or Bulls looking to flip Lonzo for the #6 or #7.

That makes the offer the #4, #6 or #7, Ingram and maybe Hart.

I like the last deal sans Hart. Moving Ball for picks and then Ingram is a decent offer. Ingram has been speculated to become a megastar. That should be enough.

We are bringing in several projects and maybe Kyrie signs with us but Caruso is still out there, especially if we move Ball and Ingram for AD. This french dude, Poirier has been in for a work-out and a project big man named Taco has been in as well.

If the Pelicans were going to trade him for .50 cents on the dollar, there are a number of teams that would make a move on him even without the assurances that he'd sign an extension.

Not to mention that the salary doesn't even come close to matching.

The Pels are going to have deal directly with the Lakers because the Suns have already stated they are not parting with the 6th overall pick. They like Ball but they ain't giving-up that pick for him.

I say we go with the number four pick this year, Ingram, Hart, Bongo, and Wagner. That should be enough.

The question would be...can it beat the Knicks offer. The player(s) that the Lakers are offering are better, but the #3 pick is better than the #4, especially in this draft.

The Celtics may be out of the running, especially if Kyrie leaves as he is expected to do. Plus, the rumor is that Griffin wants to get a deal done before the draft so he can hone in on players he wants to work out. That would also leave the Celtics out because they can't do anything until Kyrie becomes an FA.

You also have to consider the possibility of some team doing what the Thunder did with PG-13 or the Raptors with Kawhi and trying to beat the Lakers offer because they think he can get them a deep playoff run.

Your suggestion in post #215 is good. I don't know how much value Wagner and Bonga have though.

I like Taco, but if the Lakers are going to take a flyer on a big, I'd rather get Bol Bol.

I don't think it has to because the Lakers are under the cap.

It has to. There are still a lot of rules in place for trading where one team can't take in X% more money than they send out. Any trade for Anthony Davis that doesn't involve Lonzo Ball is going to be really hard to match dollars under the NBA rules... (assuming they don't send LeBron for Davis)

How is that going to be enough when Kuzma, Ball, Ingram and draft picks were not enough 4 months ago?
