At some point the staff is going to have to make decisions on guys like this. Having so many prospects just milling around the cut line between NHL and AHL doesn't move the needle. At some point they have to pick guys to focus on moving up and shed the others to refill the younger pool. Just waiting to see "who bubbles up" is not a plan

He looked great in camp and made the team. He looked like he wasn't ready for the NHL and got sent down. Hopefully he can translate his camp skills to games.

Could factor in to Konecny negotiations. Not the best comparable since he only has 1 season of experience and plays C. But maybe.

I'm still at the General Manager trainee level..... Can you trade RFA for RFA ? What if the Flyers wanted to trade Konecny and Provorov for Point? Make the trade, then start to negotiate the deal with Point. If someone then gives him an offer sheet for the $10MM plus and Flyers don't match... the flyers get the compensatory picks. Hell, throw in JVR too

Yep. Personally, I would not. Marner is definitely the best player in the trade. Point probably is, though his sample size of excellence is small. But I think the Flyers need Provorov (and for him to be a #1, at least at EV/PK) more than they need another forward, especially after adding Hayes.

@purdue81, they absolutely can trade RFA for RFA or even RFA for other assets. Technically you'd just be trading their rights because there's no contract, so unless the teams have given permission to negotiate it might drive the values way down due to the 'im not signing' risk. As for if they made the trade, Point signed a 10M+ offer sheet, and the Flyers chose not to match; the Flyers would get the picks. However, the net for that would be Prov/Konecny for 4 first round picks. I wouldn't like that deal very much. That sets them back a few more years, waiting for guys to develop. Unless they flip those 1sts for other players; then it's just getting really complicated.

We can but i proposed them two for Marner and Purdue proposed them two for Point and Awaz said he wouldnt do either. If i was going to trade them in a package it would be for Marner and a pick.
