Good old Nate Thompson, I had to Google to even figure out who this dude was. Great pick up lol. Guess not much of a cup push. Should of just done nothing!:tsk:

Flyers 3rd round pick (that they traded for Braun) seems like a sorely missed pick today. Marleau and Kovalchuk both went for 3rd rounders in 2020.

Still a Braun supporter, I think he's been very good, especially lately. But missing that pick may be hurting them a bit today.

I'm as high as anyone on this team, but they were never going to push themselves into true cup contention on paper at the trade deadline. If they maxed out their LTIR they could add like 2.1M. That's not enough to make up ground on the Lightning, Bruins, Pens, Caps, etc. on paper. If they make a deep run, it's because they team bought in, got hot, and got the right matchups.

All the trades today don't change that.

I agree, so I guess I didn't see any puppse of adding this guy. Would much rather have Frost in the line up versus a 35 year old never was. Just my 2 cents.

Man if we only had 3.8 million to spend on a player. Who could've seen that coming? :dhd:

eh, Braun has been really solid the last month or so. I think he will continue to do so and really show his worth in the playoffs with his experience helping along everyone on the backend with next to no playoff experience outside Nisky.

I'm cool with rolling the dice with what we have. There is no super dynamic player I've seen that will just make a team super strong. I think the team has built solid chemistry this year and it was sorely missed. I say ride em into the playoffs and hope we keep playing well and get solid goaltending.

If he was the difference between winning the cup or not i could see paying that price for him but in reality we are paying 3.8 million and a gave up a 2nd and 3rd round pick for a bottom pair d man

Flyers have added some much-needed toughness going for a playoff run

Well let's just hope our new acquisitions never see the ice. We now have 2 more players we didn't need lol. Maybe package both for a 4th rounder?

Yea I am good with the moves. 2 vets to replace some guys that probably need more minutes in the AHL. Nate Thompson has a decent amount of playoff games under his belt (62 i believe) so that was probably part of the reason we got him.
