Real nice win last night. Myers was a beast. The Sanheim/Myers pairing in general looked great. If they can establish some consistency at that level, the Flyers are going to be a real tough out in the playoffs. What a joy it is to have two 23 year old dmen that are 6-4+, can skate like the wind, and move the puck with confidence and ease. And one of them is even RH. And they're only the 2nd pair.
I agree 100% with this and to think Myers was sent down to the minors and deemed not ready.

22 games left then probably 6-8 to get into game shape and another 10 to gel into the system. It will be very close
I want Patrick back as much as anyone, but I’m really starting to have my doubts. With the timeline presented above it will be very tight as Las mentioned. My skepticism at this point is centered around the fact that while he has been practicing with the team for the past week, he still has not been cleared for contact...

I'm going with Giroux today. The Jets have won their last 3 games. I think Hart will be on fire today in net.
I'm another note, over on CSN Philly there was an interesting write up on a potential trade in regard with the Leafs Kappanen. His cap is only 3.2 million. I wonder what package that would cost?

I think Columbus is history to behonest. They just lost their top scorer during the Flyers loss. He's out 8-10 weeks. They are done. Canes will fall out soon enough imo. I think it will be the Islanders and either Canes or Rags for second wild card.

They have confidence in the system AV has them playing. Scoring coming from everywhere makes it hard for other teams to match up

The Rags should start scaring people. They’re getting Binnington-caliber goaltending like the Blues got last year. If they get in, they could be very dangerous. No way they trade Kreider now.

That's a good point. I'm still waiting for them to slip at some point though. This has to be killing @lasgop8 .

Agreed. Unfortunately, unless Hart can shake his road funk this team will struggle to win a 7 game series against anyone. A healthy Patrick or a trade for a 3C is a must, too, if they have true Cup aspirations.

You figure it's unlikely, but you could literally play Hart in every home game and Elliott in every road game come playoff time if you absolutely had to. Besides, we're playing well enough right now to nab home ice advantage in at least one round, so I don't expect to struggle to win a series against anyone.

Watched some of the Rags v Canes. Didn't think either team looked all that good. BUT the Rags are now 8-2 over their last 10 so the are playing with some confidence.

And just a side commentary. Only in the NHL can you get a "David Ayres" story... Such a cool deal !
