Trade deadline is here and it seems that the Flyers are very quiet so far. I have not seen any up to date rumors? I do think they will pick up a small depth player. Thoughts?

I can't seem to find it again, but I saw a rumor that was essentially Gostisbehere + a pick to Minn for Eric Staal (who has another year left on his contract).

Seems a bit rich on the return to me. But I would interested in Staal. 3.25 hit is pretty manageable. Kind of wish he only had this year left though. Any center they get with term left puts them in a weird spot next year with Couturier, Hayes, Patrick, "new center", Frost. Would probably need to move 2 of them to wing to get real playing time?

Not saying I wouldn't move Ghost at this point, but with Braun's deal coming up this summer, Ghost would round out your top 6 dmen for next year (assuming they re-sign Hagg and Myers who are RFA). If you move Ghost, you're in the market for a dman I think. Unless they plan on Friedman or Morin, both of which would be pretty risky IMO.

Good lord. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Pageau. Thank god the Flyers didn't pay that. Yikes.

Have to say, Dorion is doing a pretty damn good job setting the Sens up moving forward. This draft is supposed to be really good and he's got 3 first rounders this year. Two of them will probably be top 10 at least (Sharks, Sens). Plus a slew of picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

If this draft is as good as people say, the Sens are going to be a handful in a few years.

Looks like the Isles were willing to overpay in response to moves by the Pens and Caps. Fletcher needs to make a move, but I'd rather him settle for a 4C than overpay for a 3C.

Really a 1st and second rounder for Pageau. the only way they get the third rounder is if the Isles win the cup

True. Still a significant overpay though IMO.

Trades coming fast and furious. Trochek to the Canes

Best player moved so far IMO. But until the Canes add some D and figure out goaltending, I'm not real worried about them.

Agreed. 1st round picks and top prospects should be reserved for trades that you think put you firmly in 'cup favorite' status. Not for depth pieces that help you get in and/or win a playoff round.

The Flyers are playing extremely well right now and I think they can make some noise in the playoffs, especial if Hart gets hot. But the names out there don't take them from 'good team, playing very well' to 'cup favorite', so I'm good standing pat or making minor depth moves.

I'm good w/ Nate Thompson. Good bottom 6 guy. 5th rounder is nothing. $1M salary, UFA this summer. That's about the move I expected/wanted.

55% on draws. Flyers really going after the FO Cup

Why dont you think the zamboni driver can carry them into the playoffs?

I like his size also, guess this means we arent hopeful for Patrick to come back.
