What did u see from tanner pearson that made him expendable so quickly ?

Gubberson talked a great game but man was he bad ... he famously buried ben hutton a couple years ago saying it takes 300 games before a dman figures it out ... all the while being a boat anchor for every canuck dman he played with on every advanced stats metric. Ben hutton worked hard this offseason but he was finally free of gubberson this season and hes now playing 25 plus mins a game.

It could be that gubberson is now free of the criticism and will be better but im not sure how with that (lack of) skillset

Honestly nothing. He might have fell into the same mold as Perron and Brassard before him (IE...fitting into the Penguins system) but really took a bad rap.

But that is 100% correct from the Sporting News and too add they have 6 defensemen under contract next year along with the RFA's of Pettersson and Riikola. So they will probably waste the latter two to keep Johnson and Gudbranson on the roster.

If the Flames can go 12-8 over their final 20 games, the Sharks would have to go 13-4-2 over their final 19 to catch them for the Pacific Division title. A quick look st the remaining Flames schedule and I think 12 wins is certainly doable.

Flames always have trouble with the Ducks (especially in Anaheim), I seriously would look into sacrificing a live chicken (or duck) to see if it would help.

There was a problem retrieving his luggage at the Pittsburgh airport, so even on the flight he was a -2.

Spot on for both. In the grand scheme they are stuck with 6 hefty contracts on defense with only 3 consistent defenders in Letang, Schultz and Dumoulin. Maatta is having a great season but he is hindered if he plays with Pettersson, Johnson and now Gudbranson.

Unless they bury Johnson, which I hope they will, I can see them move on from either Riikola or Pettersson.
