I don't believe this to be the case. See a fair amount of Draymond mediated locally, plus his podcast, Dray is pretty respected by the league. Butler is too, his rep is wants to win so much he gets frustrated. Ok well let's see what that looks like as Curry finishes out the string, why not? They can't rebuild properly, have some fun, start over with a ton of cap space in 2027 plus Kuminga.

It may not work, but that won't be because of a personality conflict with Dray and Butler. They said exactly this when Chris Paul came to the Warriors, and he was an absolute top level professional, loved having him.

I don't see this team getting to the finals, not because of personality but because too old, Curry has really hit a wall, is playing hurt. But it's more interesting than it was and it all lines up for at least a watchable end to Curry's career.

The next couple years are more fun now, trade approved!

The answer to "Why not?" is pretty simple, Butler is unlikely to play better than Wiggins has been, and the Warriors also decimated their depth in the process -- losing their #2, 4, 11, and 13 in minutes. Their top 3 in minutes are now going to be 36, 35, and 34 years old -- all being very much on the downslope of their careers -- and it's not likely that they will even make the Playins now.

More interesting? Certainly. But very few of Butler's seasons, and none of Green's without Thompson have been "fun".

Most of the big deals people were expecting are done.
