According to Lakers Nation, it has been said that Magic Johnson wanted to fire both Luke Walton and Rob Pelinka. Funny because I thought Pelinka was Johnson's choice, but they are saying no and that Jeanie wouldn't let him. Honestly, Jeanie might have been better off to allowed Johnson to fire both Luke Walton and Pelinka and allowed him to finish his vision of the Lakers that would make it to the finals. Some one made some serious mistakes in the Last two years and if that was Pelinka's choice to take Tatum instead of Lonzo Ball and not sign Randle and Lopez - Then he should be fired

In addition Marco Nunez head athletic trainer has been fired. Lakers front office feels that the players after injuries took too long to recover and that the projected recovery period in each case was far less then the actual.

1. It's been reported that Magic Johnson was just not committed to the job. Every person that takes over that role has visions of their respective team making it to the Finals and winning. It takes effort, precision and effectiveness in their own duties to achieve that vision; Magic was clearly lacking in the first part, and probably wasn't good with the other traits either. Magic staying in the role likely would've resulted in the Lakers continuing on the path of mediocrity. He basically wasted a year of Lebron's prime years which are slowly dwindling away.

2. I understand the reasoning for allowing Randle to leave if you land an actual All-Star. Randle's a good player, but he's not elite (at the moment). I also am assuming that you mean picking Lonzo Ball over Tatum and not the way you worded it. If Pelinka really wanted Tatum over Ball, then that's not exactly a reason to fire him. Also, Magic's the one whom made the overall decisions. He could've overrode Pelinka's decision making. It was his hire, it falls on him as well.

I view career as overall impact in the game. Dirk is the best shooting big man of all time and it's not even close. He revolutionized the position and had one of the most iconic, unstoppable moves of all time. He's the one that sparked the movement of looking in Europe for the next big thing and helped facilitate the development of overseas players.

Basically when Dirk came into the league, no one in their right mind thought a guy with this skill set could be a focal point of a team as a big. You had to be a banger. You had to dominate the paint. And instead Dirk used an incredible skill set to set himself aside.

Wade is easily the 3rd or 4th best SG of ALL TIME. That's why I'm saying as a player Wade is better. But from a career stand point, I take into account not only accolades and accomplishment, but what you left the game in return.

That's just my view of "career".

I guess my counter to that would be, did Tim Duncan revolutionize the game of basketball then? Because the type of players like Duncan (working in the post) are starting to become a rare breed as well. I would venture to say that Duncan easily had the better career than Dirk. Dirk being a unicorn in the type of players, to me at least, doesn't translate to better career (I recognize you mentioned Wade being the better player). But in terms of accolades, I feel Wade was better in that respect given that he was a true two-way player. But it's differing of opinions. They're both very close comparisons so it's not an asinine view either way you stand.

30 points in his final home game.

Triple Double in his final career game

And to have UD finish off the triple double for him on that mid range jumpshot was amazing

James is best player to ever wear a Heat jersey.

Wade is the Heats all time best player , easily.

Of course excluding Beasley.

Anyway @bksballer89 , did you what the Heat saved by having the Clippers sign McGruder?
It was a brilliant move.

Also, very shrewd move doing what they did with Duncan.
He's a steal for the next 2 seasons.

Yep I totally understood it. Just felt bad for him in terms of the timing

@WiggyRuss
Why didn't LeBron make sure Mike Miller was sitting court side with him and his real friends?
