well thats because Clayton Kershaw likes to choke his balls off in the post season. lol

Yeah like last year going into the playoffs the Indians weren't playing good baseball. I thought they had zero shot and we saw how that turned out. Getting to the playoffs is obviously the goal but still playing consistent baseball throughout the season is the key and balanced team. Getting hot in the playoffs is definitely a huge key but if you play consistent like the Red Sox did it should work itself out.

yah many people had the Indians as the favorite to win the whole thing going into the season last year but they were just palying dead ass baseball at the wrong time.

In MLB its about giving yourself a few shots.

He is a Dolan apologist for 1 simple reason. He is a homer and his teams/players can do no wrong in his eyes.

On the bright side, this has to be the best era in Cleveland sports history by a long shot regardless of whether the Indians or Browns break through with championships. THe Cavs did it, and the other 2 are very relevant.

This has been the best era in Cleveland sports history? Not sure about that. Granted all this was a loooong time go so here I go. From '46 to '49 the Browns won it all in the old AAFC. In '48 the Indians won it all. The Browns 1st year in the NFL '50 they won it all. They also won it all in '54 & '55. In '51, '52 & '53 they lost the title game. Six straight years in the 50's the Browns played in the title game.

Looking more and more like the Thunder/Spurs will be the 7th/8th seed.

Utah are 3 losses up on those teams and Clippers are 2 losses up on those teams.

With a week left in the year, it seems unlikely that the Spurs or Thunder catch either of those teams.

For my personal entertainment, give me GSW/OKC and DEN/SAS.

@tlance

Was Errnie's big mistake not bringing in PP when he had the chance when he still had some gas left in the tank?

Examining Ernie Grunfeld's Worst Moves in D.C. - DMV Sports Network

Hmm... Let's stroll down memory lane. Here are some of his lowlights. Drafting Vesely (who barely played in NBA) in 2011 & trading the 1st in 2009 (for guys who did basically nothing in DC) were two of the worst moves. Instead of virtually getting zip they could have had - Oh I don't know - freaking Curry and Klay Thompson (or a host of other NBA stars).

More recently he paid a fortune for Mahinmi who has done hardly anything & also traded a first for a few months of Bogdanovic & toss him aside & watch him thrive in Indiana. This guy could teach a course on how to ruin an NBA franchise.

Miami loses all the tiebreakers lol.

The only one they still can win is Brooklyn if they win next week as they would win the season series 3-1

Have no idea how Miami is 22-26 vs the East but 16-13 vs the West lol.

Because all that is holding them back is Dolan is cheap. Would think the #1 attribute you'd want in an owner is a will to win.

Yep.

Other things are important too, obviously.

Daniel Snyder is willing to spend with anybody but he trusts the wrong people to run his team his special treatment of stars has been known to ruin team chemistry. And he meddles.

Being a quality owner takes 2 very important things, IMO:

1) willingness to spend
2) ability to hire good people and trust them to do their jobs

It is better to have 1 than neither, but an owner really needs both to have any type of sustainable long term success. Sounds like Dolan has #2, but not # 1.

And if it were a team he didn't like, Wiggy would crush him for it.

seriously...better on the road then at home...better against the West than the East....very very odd.....bodes well for a playoff series on the road though.

I mean, I am using common sense.

How do you hold an owner accountable for how the league is structured?

the biggest revenue driver by far is local TV money. The Indians local TV deal, because of market, is one of the smallest in the league.

Thats not the Dolan's fault. In fact, having a top half of the league payroll, like they have had for the past 2 years, is showing a willingness to go beyond their means, but if they arent going to crash and burn and go into "penny pinching" mode- they cant do that every single year.

Its not the Dolan's fault that the revenue structure of MLB gives a huge advantage to large markets, where in the NBA and NFL that is simply not the case.

I mean, i guess i should not expect someone who is not intelligent enough and or does not pay attention to that kind of thing to know better- but then again that person (you) should also not talk out their ass.

Nailed it. It's sad Dolan has found a top FO but wastes their talent by pinching pennies and not caring more about winning.
