yikes"Duke lost three games with Zion Williamson in the lineup this year. RJ Barrett went ***0-for-9*** in the final minute of those three games. The rest of the team had three total shots. Zion had one"

I get he could be flavor of the month but I wouldn't mind seeing them take Carsen Edwards with that pick.
yikes
In the late 20s I'll take a stud backup if that's all he can be.Not sure of the fit with Carsen. Then you would have a starting backcourt with 2 undersized shot-first "PGs". Someone has to get the rest of the team involved, and someone has to be able to defend.
I don't think a cap will ever happen as the owners would not all want it. But agree they should have max contracts.
Apologies if this is true as Hopson went to defense when all else failed....and used metrics that would also show Love to be a better defender than Klay.

Right and between a half dozen owners AND the players not wanting it that would be tough to get done.I can only think a half dozen owners would not want a max year cap
The rest do I'm sure.

games played? Not true. I included defense in the stats to compare Sexton and Ball, including assists, rebounds, PER, just about anything universally considered as a stat to illustrate that Sexton is indeed the better scorer, but Ball does everything else better to date. Nothing failed, I countered an argument with stats. I followed that up with a post to change the defensive stats to whatever you prefer, steals, blocks, defensive rebounding, etc to see if anyone could come up with a non-scoring stat that favors Sexton. Crickets.
id love if the Cavs could go get PJ WAshington with that 2nd first rounder.. I think he will be good. Romeo Langford would be even better.
Depends if he's part of longterm plan...my guess is on this team he can be both.Sure, there's always that. Does this mean Clarkson is a SG and not a PG going forward? Probably more appropriate.

But didn't each team get far more (one time payment) when the deal went through.
Point is this....I get he cannot keep up with NY/LA. I even understood not keeping Lee and CC and soon Lindor. But to do nothing this offseason but let all FAs walk? Not even keep Brantley who signed a short term deal? Not even go after Cruz or Gonzalez on short term deals? While the team is a contender and arguably has the top FO and SPs in the game? It's a shame.
dolan is the reason I don't get the angst toward Gilbert from Cleveland fans. Makes no sense. Outside fans? That's another story.
The Cavs do need a backup PG but Clarkson is more of SG that handles the ball sometimes...I guess that's what I would label him as. I still think they need a backup PG, would rather go SF-do it all guy with that late pick depending on who they get with their early pick.
games played?
PER this season Sexton is 11.9 to 11.8

I think you are right. I bet if you asked most what LA's payroll is they'd guess well north of 200 mil. It's around 180 mil, right?I wish the Dodgers were spending money like everyone assumes. They have dead money ($40M) from players long gone, but really who was their big acquisition this winter? AJ Pollock. Without that dead money (and $8M deferred for Kazmir), they aren't even in the top 10.

It's $197M all considered. If you drop what's owed to players no longer on the roster, it's about $150M.
