It's something that every team likely does. Lakers just got caught. And being fined $500k is a drop in the bucket for the Lakers. Not a big deal.

agreed. i'm not necessarily big on getting fined, but like you said the money's not a big deal, and Magic and Rob hopefully learn from it...

Why bother doing anything at all? Good Lord. I mean, it's almost as if the NBA felt they had to do something...so they hired an independent legal team to investigate and ended up fining just enough to pay for that investigation.

Actually the fine was good news - It means that Pelinka and Magic Johnson have the balls to make deals. You know very well that Pelinka told Paul George to be patient and not sign any deals until next summer:lol:

They are going to be good thieves because that's what a thief does - Every time he gets caught stealing from you or some one else, he learns how to sharpen his skills. They are going to stealing good players right from other teams.

Total BS by the League....

500K fine for tampering....

See, I disagree. Even if the only "contact" was what Magic said on Kimmel, based how the rule is written, the Lakers violated it and deserved to be fined.

Now, if you want to say it's a stupid rule that shouldn't exist...that would be a discussion to have.

Irving would torch Shump if he was the only one guarding him.
