Free agent Derrick Rose has reached an agreement on a one-year, $2.1 million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, league sources tell ESPN.

He really isn't though. They have similar impact on the game.

Neither plays a lick of defense, both are great offensive players. Kyrie is obviously the better scorer, but IT is better playmaker. I honestly think IT fits better with what the Celtics have now (I realize they may not sign him long term).

If the Celtics make that trade with the Nets or Lakers pick, they will never be a serious contender. They might make the Finals, but they won't have any chance to win there. Kyrie is horribly overrated, and this trade idea is proof.

There is a big difference between bad defense at 6'3" and bad defense at 5'8". Isaiah honestly can't guard anyone.

Sad Rose has settled for the SuperTeam stacking, but theres no fighting it today. Now ALL top players are taking the WUSS easy way out. Started by Lebron/Durant.

Its a gamble though the Cavs are taking even being Rose's biggest fan. He just hasn't shown he can stay healthy. If he stays healthy, chances are good Cavs are in the finals again.. If hes injured again, forget it. Cavs wont see the finals

Why would he start? If the Cavs trade Irving, I'm almost certain they're getting a PG in return who is much better than the current version of Derrick Rose

Hes a downgrade for now until he can get his groove back, but who knows how he works within the system in Cleveland. I assume he will be ok. The East is still going to be MUCH weaker than the West. Cavs will make the finals bar another major injury catastrophe from Rose.

I dont think Cleveland is gonna beat whoever comes out of the West regardless. Even if Irving stayed.

Lebron doesn't play D anymore. They gotta get away from the 3 point chuck game. And they need another piece to go with Thompson down low. Changing out PG's isn't gonna do it all for them. They have deeper problems than that. They still can get to the finals though again

Have you seen one potential offer where a PG was not included? Go ahead and find one. Even the deals for Carmelo is a 3 team deal with a guy like Bledsoe coming over.

Point Guard is one of the most important positions in basketball. Cleveland is not going to trade Irving and not get a PG back in return and leave their PG duties to Rose, Calderon, and Felder. You're on crack if you think that.
