I don't remember Magic having a great jumper. We have yet to see how bad Simmons' jumper will be. He supposedly worked on it while he was "injured" this past season.
He had a jumper, maybe not a great one, and he wasn't afraid to shoot.

To say Ben seemed reluctant to miss was a understatement , in the brief time before he was injured.

Ps. Comparing Simmons, who hasn't played a single game , to Magic fricking Johnson is 10 times more egregious than comparing Lonzo to Kidd.

You didn't, the original post did.

What if Westbrook comes to the Lakers and PG stays in OKC?

:dhd:
Look, he hasn't signed that extension.

That says he is in wait and see mode, which could spell impending doom for OKC.

I think the Thunder have a shot at the WCF.

But, if the Rox get Olympian Melo, OKC could also be a 2nd round out.

What happens then if George bolts? Does Westbrook do the same?

Harden didn't give them a chance to set the fucking paper down on the table before he pulled his pen out.

That's what guys who are in it for the long haul do.

* and the greedy ones too*

Agreed. I don't like comparing basketball players to other players to begin with, especially when it's comparing current players to all-time greats. Each player is his own person. I wish everyone could just enjoy their games for what they are and not try to compare them to other players. But I guess it's human nature, I'm sure I'm guilty of it just as much as everyone else.

Spurs will have money too I believe.

Always beware of the Damn Spurs.

It would be epic for the Spurs to combine Kawhi and Paul George since that's exactly what Indiana could have done if they didn't trade Kawhi to the Spurs to begin with.

I should add -- he basically has to say something like this. No way he could last the season in OKC if he's like: "I'm sure it'll be fun to play with Westbrook but there's no way I'm staying in this craphole of a city any longer than I need to."

*Note: I've never been to OKC so it could actually be nice but I'm sure most NBA stars would prefer L.A.
Outside of the tornadoes, it's not that bad.

Reminds me of a small college town.

Certainly not his only options unless those are the only 2 he chooses to look at. Based on what he has said previously, my guess is that his decision will ultimately be between those 2.

I think there will be 1-2 other serious players. Mecca mentions San Antonio. That's a possibility. Maybe Boston tries to get involved again (they'd need to clear cap space but it's possible.) I'm sure some other team will try to make a run at him. We'll see how it plays out.

Very true. Lakers should be fine once they don't put all their eggs in one basket and that basket being George.

George isn't anywhere near the talent of a LeBron or a Durant.
If he doesn't go to L.A. and they move on to someone else, they'll be just fine.
I'll equate it to Hayward and Miami.
I wanted him, but not at the expense of having to lose multiple key pieces to get him.

We all are.

For the record, Magic is the closest comparison to what I expect from Ben as a finished product.

Actually, that's not true.

It's LeBron.

But, that would be just as bad, or worse....lol

That would be tough because then wouldn't L.A. have all these stars who want to play with Ball but that would sign elsewhere because they don't want to play with Westbrook? :noidea:

Outfield is the place to be for the Derby. I heard traffic getting out of the stadium was insane.

We were in 3rd base parking garage. Level 3.
We literally did not move 1 car length in over an hour.
I think cops had it blocked off.
Once traffic started moving we never had to stop and got out in 5 minutes.

As far as outfield as best place, disagree.
We literally could see/hear the bat to ball contact.
It was pretty cool.

Both Green and Aldridge have a player option.

I think Lamarcus is the guy who could bolt.

If he did, easy path to George.

If he doesn't, expiring deal easy to trade.

Tony Parker is also off the books.

So, yeah....Beware of the Spurs who could have a ton of cap space.

My wife lived there for a year or so. She liked it a lot, I guess Bricktown is pretty nice.
I had a 2 week training at Fort Sill, in Lawton.

And, I was at Tinker, which is in OK City, for like a month in the early 2000's.

I was in the Navy.

So, as long as they had a bar, we were good...lol

One last thing on the Lakers...

This seems obvious to me. But, I don't remember it being mentioned recently.

The Lakers are going to sign Boogie.

Yes, they are trying to change the culture and he can be a petulant toddler.

But, if he has a good year and the Pelicans don't make the playoffs?

I think LeBron could have his eye on the Red Rox.

So, if it's not George and LeBron or Westbrook.....Boogie in Lakerland.

Ball to Cousins would be sick.
