Tommy Joseph was just called up today by the Phillies, you know the guy who fetched us Hunter Pence. Totally thought this guy retired. I wish him the best!
He is a 1B now, though, isnt he? I think he retired from CATCHING. Not BASEBALL.Tommy Joseph was just called up today by the Phillies, you know the guy who fetched us Hunter Pence. Totally thought this guy retired. I wish him the best!

Hope he does well. His career looked pretty much over this time last year.Tommy Joseph was just called up today by the Phillies, you know the guy who fetched us Hunter Pence. Totally thought this guy retired. I wish him the best!
He is a pitcher now-a-days, isnt he?And Matt Bush just got called up by the Strangers. This guy is my hero. Another AA success story.

This guy really turned his life/career around. Good for him.
Still one of the worst #1 overall picks ever. Even if the draft class did suck balls.
If those are the highlights of the first round...Well, the #2 pick was a certain Justin Verlander. Also in the first round : Jered Weaver, Gio Gonzalez, Stephen Drew, *Huston Street. Not a *deep* draft, but talent there was.
No room here for him. It will suck to see him wearing another team's jersey, but ultimately it was the right decision to move on.Looks like Tim Lincecum is going to the Angels. It's going to be weird to see.
Good place for Timmy to land. Their rotation is in shambles. CJ Wilson and Tyler Skaggs haven't recovered sufficiently from major surgeries last year to pitch yet. Andrew Heaney, one of their promising rookies, went down in his first start of the season and may need TJ surgery. Garrett Richards needs TJ surgery. Jerad Weaver is a shell of his former self. Matt Shoemaker is a mess. Hector Santiago has unraveled. Heck, the Angels just made a trade with the Braves for a failed Rockies' starter! Timmy could pitch like he has the past couple of seasons and become their team's ace.No room here for him. It will suck to see him wearing another team's jersey, but ultimately it was the right decision to move on.
Not Giants news, but the Dodgers called up Julio Urias today. He'll make his ML debut tomorrow. He's their best prospect and one of the best pitching prospects in the game.
Urias underwent three operations on his left eye during his youth to remove a benign mass. As a result, his left eye is nearly closed, but he is able to see through it. When asked about his eye condition, he said, "That's how God works. He gave me a bad left eye but a good left arm." On May 19, 2015, Urias had an elective surgery to correct the condition.
Quite a bit of back and forth regarding this on the MLB main page, in the NL West thread...
