Makes the Lehner trade look all the more puzzling. That's good value for the Canes for Lack, IMO.

To some extent, but I feel like Lack was practically given away in this deal.Makes the Lehner trade look all the more puzzling.

There was at least another piece in the Lehner deal after all.
I try to be nice to my expansion brethren.Practically?
I heard some rumours yesterday that the Kings and Leafs were talking about Phaneuf-for-Richards, where Richards would be traded to the Leafs and bought out. I wonder if something similar could happen with the Leafs and Sabres for Hodgson where someone like Lupul or Komorov heads the other way.The thing I see more with the ROR deal though is that a CoHo buyout has to be the plan now.
Assuming Eichel doesn't go back for another college season, in no particular order you've got Eichel, ROR, Reinhart, and Girgensons down the middle.
Doesn't leave much room for CoHo, even if they move him to the wing like they did with Ennis.

I said rumour and didn't post because another Kings beat guy said it was BS so I'm taking it with a grain of salt. It does have some logic to it with the Kings losing Sekera and no idea on Voynov's status and the Kings having a second rounder still. How come that Leafs/Kings deal hasn't happened yet? Did one side have cold feet I'm guessing, or maybe it'll revisit again today?
Makes a lot of sense for Dallas. If they can get him for a decent price short-term he's a great reclamation project. Of course in order for that to happen the player needs to understand he's a reclamation project...

Also heard SJ might be in on him with the Bieksa deal not having happened yet. We'll see.
I didn't know Reese went there. Good pick up for a team that's struggled with goaltending for years. With Jeff Reese there in Dallas now, I think he could turn Antti Niemi into a much better goalie like he did with Steve Mason and the Flyers
