Gardiner would probably be slightly more attractive but not OEL level. Rielly might get a discussion started but he still does not have the valuie that an established OEL does. One of the few established top-pairing D who is young enough to make the Oilers think about giving up the #1 this year.

OEL
Karlsson
Doughty
Subban

That's about the extent of them I would think.

But don't despair!! The Oilers might accept that package for next year's #1 overall.

I am probably not familiar enough with OEL to appreciate that perspective.

I think Rielly fits in that conversation. We're talking about Dougie Hamilton as a top d-man capable of getting a $7-8 mil contract; is Rielly really that far behind Hamilton?

While we wait for something to happen, I gotta say I am disappointed with my twitter feed. Thing should be blowing up, but its pretty quiet.

Where have you gone Dreger, Bobby Mac, et al ??

I'd say that Rielly is still significantly behind Hamilton in development, if not value. I wouldn't call either of them "established" though, so I'd put them well below the guys I listed. As much as Rielly and Hamilton have showed promise I doubt a single NHL GM would accept them straight up for the guys on that list.

I'd probably add Hedman to that list though.

Yeah, let's give up Jack Eichel for Milan Lucic, the 3rd pick and the 14th pick

Take a lap, KPD

As long as nobody puts Buff's suit in the shower, it will be fine.

Wish someone would put PK's entire fricking wardrobe in the shower. One of the highlights of the playoffs for me was MTL getting knocked out ONLY so that I would not have to endure the apparently necessary footage of PK arriving at the arena all decked out.

Looch is an enigma but I have no problem with the Kings shaking it up - when you miss the playoffs like they did, you can't be stagnant

As long as Gaudreau, Monahan, Bennett, Gio, and Brodie aren't moving, I would be okay with the above.
