Would be a terrible trade for Miami. I would be disgusted
I will feel really bad for you heat fans if this comes to fruition. No jokes. As a Laker fan I know what comes along in a Howard trade, and he's only gotten older since his stint in LA which means his basketball isn't necessarily better. :tsk:

He's good for rebounding, can finish some lobs, and block some shots, but not the same guy who helped carry the Magic to the finals. I'd rather have Whiteside.
If only games were only 2 quarters long he'd be the perfect guy for most teams because he definitely gives full effort 50% of the time.

I for sure don't want Howard.
I'd accept the Horford, Teague trade but I honestly don't think they are better players then Dragic, Whiteside.
They might be a better fit though, for what else is on our roster.

I hear ya. I guess sometimes a change in venue is what some players need which would seem to be the case if the Horford/Teague trades works out. Seems like they would just be swapping out guys in both positions.

@WiggyRuss
Who new will be on Cavs later this week?
If anyone.
Its a good question - If I had to guess I WOULD say i expect them to stand pat- but that would be the first time in like 6 years where they didnt make a deal.

I really dont know. I hope they dont do too much. IF anyone has any sense they realize Love isnt going anywhere. Im not saying its not possible AT SOME POINT- but no way he gets dealt before tehy see him in his first healthy playoffs and under a system that actually is TRYING to use him.

I think Mozgov could be gone if they get some value for him because i think they have confidence in Andy as a backup big AND I would imagine if they deal Mozgov they will get some kind of big in return. I have heard teams have asked about Shumpert but i doubt hes moved....i dont see a scenario...

If i could see anything maybe its a small deal for Ben McLemore to add another wing that can shoot that has a little upside...i dunno

i dont see Kyle Korver.....

if your the Cavs- woudl you trade Shumpert for Korver- and before you answer that just think of all the circumstanes and variables.

My guess is the Joe Johnson buyout, but I'm not so sure I wouldn't have more faith in Mo.

Shumpert for Korver would be a bad deal IMO. Korver is not a good defender and is shooting like shit this season. He's also turning 35 in a month

I'm guessing the Cavs make no moves.

They have many pieces ... any trade would have to bring back a key player who would provide an upgrade. I don't see it happening.
Shumpert, Mozgov, trade exception, 1st rounder, for Dwight+ Ariza :thumb:

i think thats the most likely as well....it would be good depth to have on the outside...another shooter...

id be interested to see what Joe Johnson could do in a role, getting open shots, and being rejuvenated on a contender for the first time....who knows- im not saying he would be great- i have no clue- but i think it would be worth it to find out.

You know he would be getting open looks like never before..and you gotta think that hed have a little more pep only playing 20 or so minutes a night with LeBron and Kyrie collapsing defenses rather than trying to carry a bad/mediocre Brooklyn offense.

i do think the Cavs could use one more pure shooter because A. Shumpert hasnt shot as well as I would have hoped despite playing better defense than i thought B. LeBron has shot HORRIBLY from 3 this year C. Kyrie- up until recently was struggling from 3- now he looks a lot better lately which is to be expected- but its what? Him and JR, that are the TRUE marksmen- Love is really good for a big man at 36% or so with that volume, but 36% percent isnt great....Delly does have a GREAT percentage at 43% but im NOT EXACTLY comfortable counting on that in the playoffs yet from Mr. Mathew Dellavadova- sorry to say....

KI, JR, are the real 3 ball threats--- Jefferson and Delly there deeper rotation guys....

it would be nice to get a guy that would install fear in the other defense from the 3 pt line and i think JJ could do that.

This is what I'm feeling. I think Teague and Dragic are around the same skill level, but Teague is younger and would probably fit in more. Whiteside is talented, but Horford is more refined and would just fit in better and not be as much of a headache.

The more this settles, the more and more I don't want Dwight's name anywhere near the Heat. If Riley pulls the trigger on this trade, I've all but given up on Riley.

As you mentioned, Cavs don't need a major overhaul. They need to tweek the roster here and there. Getting rid of Mosgov is doable while also getting decent returns. Getting rid of both Mosgov and Shumpert could net some really nice assets.

No one's going to touch JR Smith and Verajo's not going to command a lot. But he fits in what the Cavs need.

Yah...i really hope Andy can stay healthy because if he can get going- he can be pretty useful.. hes the only person that has played with both Kyrie and LeBron and has been very good in the pick and roll with both...he defends, annoys guys...hes like a big delly...and that helps in the playoffs....

Right now the depth guys for the Cavs at their positions are

guard: Mo Williams

wing: Richard Jefferson

big: Andy Varejao

if who they bring in isnt a solid upgrade over those those guys then why do a deal? I would just try and add one more sharp shooter if you could for a reasonable price.....that Mozgov and whatever for Mclemore and koufous would be ideal because it would give the Cavs that wing shooter that is signed for fairly cheap next year, and koufous a solid backup center signed for 3 more years......but it doesnt sound like thats happening.

Reports out of Miami is that Chris Bosh is likely dealing with another blood clot situation.

There goes our season and probably the end of Chris Bosh career.

thats awful news....truly that is horrible...i have a lot of respect for Chris Bosh. Lets hope what report you read is not correct. At first when I heard he was going for more tests on his calf i thought it was kinda strange. That guy sacrificed a lot and he deserves so much better than having such a freak problem like that.

Yeah, it's on CBS right now. That sucks. I love Bosh, good player and good human being.

Agent: Too soon to tell if Chris Bosh issue more serious than calf strain

Hopefully his career is still salvageable.

That news ruined my night. I really hope its just a more serious calf issue rather than another blood clot.

I haven't felt this sad due to sports since the 2011 finals

Honestly if it is another blood clot, he would be better off quitting basketball. 2 blood clot in 2 years at almost the same point of the basketball season would worry me if I'm Bosh or his family. I doubt his career is still salvageable if it is indeed another blood clot

Yeah it's hard to say. I'm not a doctor so the calf strain could just really be a bad strain. I remember the abdominal strain he suffered in the 2nd round of the playoffs back in 2012. Maybe Bosh is susceptible to strains easily, I have no clue.

But if it's another blood clot, he should retire immediately as you said. He'll be able to do TV the day he retires.
