and hey- turnup-realize in all likelihood you are gonna win that week long avatar bet- and i even put it on a couple nights ago---- but the Heat are only 1.5 games up on the 8 seed with 4 games left on our bet that ends February 9th- those games against Dallas, , Charlotte, San Antonio, and LA Clips......i realize you will PROBABLY win- but at this point i dont see how that is guaranteed....Heat are in 6th place 1.5 games up on the 8th seeded Pacers...am i missing something?-- it seems to me- if you lose the next 3 out of 4- which seems rather likely- its gonna get close....

havent had a Miami 3 pt % update in WELL over a month-

currently 28th in the league at 32.7%. -only Minnesota and the Lakers shoot the 3 pointer worse.

Wasn't the bet that Miami would be out of the playoffs after this stretch? Maybe I read it wrong but I doubt it. Miami is currently 3.5 up on Charlotte who is in 9th

Heat play 12 of the next 14 on the road- teams that include Golden State, LA Clips, OKC, Toronto, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Washington- and then follow that up with 2 home games against the Clippers and Spurs. They are currently 22-15 and 5th in the East.

TURNUP- here ill make a small bet with you if you would like.

After that stretch of games which ends a month from now- the Heat WILL NOT BE IN PLAYOFF POSITION IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE.

Winner gets to choose the others avatar for a week. IF the Heat are in 8th or better after those road games and that 2 game home stand- (which ends February 9th- a MONTH from now), you win.

If the Heat are in 9th or worse on February 9 after the days games- I win.

Deal?

Looks like I was correct. Wiggy trying to pull a fast one on @TurnUpTheHeat

no your right your right your right--- i was thinking only the Pacers had to pas sthem- your right- charlotte would have to- which i think would require charlotte winning all their games (including Clev. tonight) and Miami losing all their games- which isnt likely to happen- though they do play charlote

I gotta say though- if the Heat lose 3 out of these next 4, and finish the pre-all star break part of the season at 28-25 and in 7th or 8th place- i will feel like I did a DAMN good job of not buying into the hype and home court that some miami fans thought they were going to get!!!

as i said a long time ago- there are a few tiers in the East--- #1 the Cavs- no one is on their level- though Toronto is getting close.....there is a second tier- where I would personally put Toronto- and I think Chicago is tlanted enough to be there, maybe the Hawks too----- but that third tier- is where the HEat are- with a bunch of other teams....probably finish right around the 6th seed or so- and be a first round exit.

The fact that 50 games been played for most teams and got Atlanta and Chicago in a tier above Miami is why you can't be taking seriously on here. You're a clown if you honestly think Atlanta or Chicago is in a different tier than Miami. I would advise you to watch more basketball outside of the Cavs ASAP. There is a reason why those teams basically have an identical record. Also it should be taking into consideration that Miami is 3-1 against those 2 teams this year.

talent, track record, injury history, predicting what will happen, elite players on teams, etc....fit into it just as much as the current record.

What track record does Atlanta have? 1 fluke year?

I guess Bosh and Wade aren't elite. Outside of Butler and Gasol, who else is elite on Chicago?

Injury history? Who is more injury prone on Miami than Derrick Rose? They're already without Noah for the year and Dunleavy is still hurt but yeah let's bring up injury history lol.

Just like with the Whiteside topic, you hate Miami so it makes no sense in having a discussion with you about that team.

well Jimmy Butler is a true elite player in his prime. Something Miami does not have. Miami missed the playoffs last year- while Chicago was the only team to even concern the Cavs in the playoffs- plus Pau Gasol is playing really well.

The Hawks have guys like Horford and Milsap in the middle of their primes and are coming off a 60 win season where they made the ECF.

The Heat are coming off a season where they were in the lotto and everyone was hurt and its not like they look a whole bunch better this year.

We shall see though. Should be interesting what those standings look like come April. I have a feeling i will be 100% completely vindicated. ill bookmark the post ;)

Don't know how reliable this source is, but things could get interesting in Chicago. Pau could end up on the trading block because he intends to opt out at the end of the season. It sounds like he and Taj Gibson may have both been on the trading block, but those look to be tabled now because of Noah's injury meaning that they will likely have to go into the playoffs "as is" and wait until the off-season to improve the roster.

Chicago Bulls Rumors: Pau Gasol Contract Unlikely, Taj Gibson Trade Denied as Joakim Noah Replaced by Bobby Portis, Doug McDermott?

Miami missing the playoffs last season have what to do with this season? You think guys like Bosh and Wade just forgot what the playoffs feels like because they missed one year of playoffs basketball?

For someone who admitted he watched 4 Heat games all year long, I would say its pretty stupid of you to make a comment like "its not like they look a whole bunch better this year"

i guess we will see!! Heat- POSSIBLY go 2-2- but id say its PROBABLy more likely they go 1-3 i nthe next 4 and cruise into the all star break in the 7th seed with a 28-25 record...as mediocre as they come.

to me it looks awful similar- a slow, defensive half court team....about worst in the NBA in PPG, near best in the NBA at points allowed- cant shoot the 3 worth shit-- take the fewest shots per game of any team in the league.... a slow, plodding, methodical, injury prone, joyless life suck that is more representative of the game 15 years ago when Riley was in NY or early Miami and promoted the ugliest brand of basketball that has ever been played.

a point differential of +.1 is the definition of mediocre.

it is really important in the NBA to have a super star in his prime- Paul George, Andre Drummond, Jimmy Butler------ the Heat dont have that anymore. Its a big problem- especially considering Wade is having his worst year since he first arrived in the league.

I do have to say I am pleasantly surprised by the Cavs elite balance...3rd in the NBA in oPPG, 10th in NBA in points per game....not easy to do. SAS gives up only 91.2 a game- the Heat 96 the Cavs 96.5......

Pretty sure you had the Heat losing to Chicago and Milwaukee last week as well so yeah your opinion means nothing.

How do you know what anything look like? You don't watch games. You look at box scores and make assumptions.

Those superstars in Drummond, George, and Butler are really having a huge impact on their teams. No wonder the Pistons, Bulls, and Pacers are several games ahead of Miami at this point. I'll trust Wade and Bosh in a huge moment in the playoffs before any of those guys

yah good call- me predicting the Heat are going to be the 6th seed at the begining of the year means nothing- my opinion that the Heat would lose those games just destroys my credibility LOL...unreal....do you ACTUALLY think this stuff - or is that the best you can do?

gotta get to the playoffs first- and if you are the 8th seed THAT WOULD BE FABULOUS!

tell me where I am wrong.

At the beginning of the year I said the Heat were once again going to be a slow, methodical team that sucked at shooting the 3 with shaky depth, and "stars" passed their primes and should get around the 6th seed and somewhere between 42-45 wins. seems pretty damn accurate to me, lol.....and you gotta admit- its just a disgusting, boring type of basketball to watch- watching this team walk the ball up, take the least shots in the league, horrible behind the line- its just awful.- reminds of those Bricks teams that nearly ruined the league with that crap. its just soo bad....they are the ANTI Warriors.

instead of attacking what i am saying- because you know its true- you attack me- oldest trick in the book. You are a donald trump fan ARENT YA!!!! lol
