Here's the problem and why pretty much everyone on here finds your posts on Whiteside to be so ridiculous. He's literally improving game by game and you act like it's impossible for him to improve.

Like someone else said, if Whiteside was a Cav, you'd be posting 15,000 word love sonnets about his dominant rebounding, shot blocking and how he averages over 12 points per game with no plays called for him. The fact that you are literally the only on on here that can't see that he's pretty damn good and only trending up, shows that your issue is because he's on the Heat.

Also, even if Whiteside were a "plodding 7 footer," which he isn't, you don't run fast breaks with all 5 players. With his ability to block and alter shots, Whiteside can stay back on most fast breaks for defense just like Kareem did in the Showtime days.

Speaking of Kareem, it's a pretty safe bet that if the Lakers did sign him, they'd have Kareem working with him on his offensive game. I'd say that's a pretty good resource to help the kid improve.
how does a 7 foot 265 lbs guy learn how to run around picks? or extend out to the 3 pt line? does he "learn" how to get faster?
How many 7 foot dunkers out there have you seen learn a jump shot in their mid to late twenties? have you seen Dwight learn a 15 footer? This guys stroke is HORRIBLE....maybe in 3-4 years he could learn one- hell Varejao did and i never thought that was possible- but its not gonna happen this year, and its not gonna happen next year or even the year after that in all likelihood......

the LAST thing a rebuilding team needs is a big baby that needs constant supervision that is still a developmental project. and like i said--- there are SO MANY NBA players- more than stars in the sky- that had a ton of talent that never got everything out of it.

EXACTLY what i'm saying. Wiggy here seems to think he's hit his ceiling, though...

He's played about 90 games, and last year with a different roster nightly where there was no chance for continuity.

I see every Heat game and often have no clue what type of offense they want to run.

THAT, is what Riley and Spoelstra need to figure out pretty damn quick, as far as Whiteside.

This entire post simply proves my point.

He has been much better on the perimeter.
What he hasn't improved on is setting screens, which has frustrated Dragic and others.
Amare is a master at that, but obviously is limited in other parts of his game.

Not sure why it's taking so long, but you don't think Whiteside can't be tought how to set a better screen?

and fair or unfair---- work ethic is a type of skill in the NBA. Character is a type of skill in the NBA. A constant motor is a type of skill in the NBA.

As i said before- and i am sure all you would agree- there are so many NBA players that failed to live up to their potential for a variety of reasons- for every guy that becomes an All-Star and gets everything out of their potential- their are DOZENS who dont.

there are a ton of different reasons why i am sure.

If i am betting on a guy in a business where very few ever attain that level of accomplishment- do i bet on the guy that was blackballed out of the league, and has had incidents since coming back? Fair or not- you can say "he is passed it" BLAH BLAH BLAH.....in a league where the guys with GREAT work ethics and spotless records and tons of talent fail to get to that all star level ALL THE TIME- there is no way in fuck Hassan Whiteside is a guy you give the benefit of the doubt to.

If any of you think giving Hassan Whiteside 60 million dollars and saying- now its time to work harder than you ever have before---- is gonna work...i have some great property to sell you next to an abandoned steel mill on the Cuyahoga.

That's a whole different conversation then what you've been saying about his game, or the role of his type of player in the NBA.

Most of your points in this post are valid.
Could money change him? Of course.

To his benefit, he has been a different player since his shoving ejection/suspension last year ( as he promised).
He worked his ass off, all summer, and his game has improved.

Some GMs are going to have to weigh the entire package this summer, then roll or not roll the dice.

Your last paragraph is based on what though?
You KNOW he's going to quit trying to improve once he's paid?
That's just stupid.

i would not trust the lunatic in that youtube video i posted a few pages back with a large part of my franchise.

I mean- if he was a finished product and really good- then maybe take the gamble- but a guy with his track record- and the fact that i dont know how he fits on a team playing him big minutes..i just dont get it.

You couldnt play Whiteside 30 minutes a game against the Warriors or Cavs or Spurs or Thunder in a playoff series because hes just gonna get smoked in high pick and roll after high pick and roll.....

and seriously- you Heat fans watched the HEat win 2 titles with an aggressive defense that switched a lot and got out on the break...thats not what whiteside is....but at this point we are both repeating ourselves.

time shall tell.

Cavs go for 6 straight tonight against the Hornets in Charlotte. Excited to see if this offense can keep pushing the ball and developing. Interested to see if TT starts against a guy like Jefferson (if Jeff is even playing- seems like hes hurt a lot lately)....

No if you watched/paid attention to basketball outside of the Cavs you would know that Jefferson was declared out for about 2 months a few weeks ago.
