how does a 7 foot 265 lbs guy learn how to run around picks? or extend out to the 3 pt line? does he "learn" how to get faster? Here's the problem and why pretty much everyone on here finds your posts on Whiteside to be so ridiculous. He's literally improving game by game and you act like it's impossible for him to improve.
Like someone else said, if Whiteside was a Cav, you'd be posting 15,000 word love sonnets about his dominant rebounding, shot blocking and how he averages over 12 points per game with no plays called for him. The fact that you are literally the only on on here that can't see that he's pretty damn good and only trending up, shows that your issue is because he's on the Heat.
Also, even if Whiteside were a "plodding 7 footer," which he isn't, you don't run fast breaks with all 5 players. With his ability to block and alter shots, Whiteside can stay back on most fast breaks for defense just like Kareem did in the Showtime days.
Speaking of Kareem, it's a pretty safe bet that if the Lakers did sign him, they'd have Kareem working with him on his offensive game. I'd say that's a pretty good resource to help the kid improve.
How many 7 foot dunkers out there have you seen learn a jump shot in their mid to late twenties? have you seen Dwight learn a 15 footer? This guys stroke is HORRIBLE....maybe in 3-4 years he could learn one- hell Varejao did and i never thought that was possible- but its not gonna happen this year, and its not gonna happen next year or even the year after that in all likelihood......
the LAST thing a rebuilding team needs is a big baby that needs constant supervision that is still a developmental project. and like i said--- there are SO MANY NBA players- more than stars in the sky- that had a ton of talent that never got everything out of it.
