A lot of things would have to go really bad for that to happen. Like losing $70 million in payroll at one time to the DL for the season.

i know but when you look at starting pitching and all you really can hang your hat on is Yu and Derek and then there are a lot of question marks and your batting order has Adrian and Prince as your only proven thump and Prince is a real question mark if he is going to hold up it doesn't look promising. we will be putting a lot of pressure on very young and inexperienced pitchers + hitting + defense

There is always the possibility that the middle infielder that is traded could be Odor. No one ever mentions that possibility. If the Rangers are simply looking for a salary dump there could be others besides Elvis they could dump by the next trade deadline or next offseason.

Taveras was found to have a BAC of .287 in the autopsy. My sadness moves to anger for his stupidity.

Since I've personally have committed the same offense - although not so much in recent history - I hesitate to call it stupidity as much as immaturity.

It's a shame, but go out to any club/restaurant in Houston tonight and see how many people his age are leaving loaded with car keys in hand.

Its stupid at any age, whether you've done it before or not

I've done it, and it was stupid, I can laugh about it now but doesn't make it any less stupid

People his age should know better, its not like he was some 16 year old kid just getting his driver's license

You feel sorry for the people killed by such stupidity not those that inflict it upon themselves and others

Yes, it is very stupid. People get killed because of it and lives get ruined.

Now, it is time to extend Yu Darvish.

I was the one which was gung-hoo on getting him resigned now and it was pointed out that he's actually under team control for 3 more years if he doesn't reach his Cy Young incentives. And they are lofty goals for sure.

I don't like to justify drunk driving but there is world of difference between driving at .08 and .287.

I gotta agree with JTA. It's something a lot of people have done and it's just not smart.

I wouldn't have minded extending him a year ago. He is vital to our long term plans.

I'm certainly not disagreeing. Swear.

And you're right as well. It honestly doesn't take much at all to reach .08. But it takes more than a lot to reach .287. So much so, that's dangerous, even if you aren't driving.
