DeShields with another boneheaded play. You can't dive for that ball you weren't even close. This guy is a walking liability.

He could join Wright in the unemployment line tomorrow and it wouldn't bother me at all.

I'm conflicted on this, and haven't really formed an opinion. I do think some of these extreme shifts we see are absolutely ridiculous and detracts from the integrity of the game.

I'm not sure what they're seeing in him compared to Hoying (I know he was sent down). You can't teach speed, but his baseball instincts are terrible.

I'm inclined to agree, but I'm not calling the shots. Thing is, if DeShields can just not be a dumb ass he's pretty much guaranteed a roster spot.

Well, he'll officially break camp in the minors, but they still draw from the same overall pool (as is my understanding at least) during ST.

No ... that's wrong. Borbon simply ran out of options. DeShields as a Rule 5 selection gets returned to HOU. End result may be the same thing that HOU puts him on waivers but they may have other options.

We just have to get rid of DeShields. I do not want him as our backup CF. What a waste of space. There has to be some better option that we can use.

Doing it against pretty quality competition too, Baseball Reference has a nice little stat that rates the quality of the opponents, not sure how accurate, but its still interesting

Rangers have a night game tonight... my prediction is that they will play better than they have recently.

Well, I suppose technically that prediction worked out. I can't remember if it was 2013 or '14, but recently they were markedly better in night games than day games.
