If he goes he's gone I am afraid. Whoever snags him will bring him back to do the same for them he would do for TEX ... 1b, DH or 3b.

Now if TEX could package Beltre and Choo ... for a bushel of prospects then resign Adrian that would be cool but I bet once he's gone he's gone.

Not real baseball savvy but I hope he never leaves this organization. His kind don't come by often and we should recognize him for that. OK blast away.

Who do you see in our lineup, rotation and closer for 2017? If you think a spot will be plugged by a free agent then just fill in that spot with FA. I am curious to see how you think this thing unfolds.

i don't tend to look that far in advance those are decisions best made toward the end of the 2016 season or in the off-season after the 2016 season ends. but i see those 3 being here thru 2016 (Beltre) and into 2017

Looking at him last season, his bat (both for avg & power) and his glove/arm are still A to A+. His biggest down-slide is his range. And it's substantial.

But he may be able to have spot duty at 3rd (after this season), and spend quality time at DH/1st baseman for many years to come.

That's a very valuable guy to have on damn near anyone's team IMO.

According to texasrangers.com, tonight's SA game will be on TX21 and tomorrow's SA game will be on FSSW (at 1 pm).

Well, that's my point then. It is easy to say those three guys will be here. It is another thing to sit down and sort our where they will fit in. I think you want to say something will be the case, but don't want to go to the trouble to see if that even makes sense in the future. Either you are looking that far in advance or you aren't . It is okay not to if you choose not to, but then don't give us part of the future puzzle without stopping to show how those pieces could fit. The truth is they can't all fit given what else we have in the organization.

the difference is that you are looking to move them to make room while i look at them as the centerpiece of the team for the next few years and think the team (i.e. JD etc) will look at how to improve the team around them and Darvish, Holland, Perez and possibly Gallardo using our system and possibly a free agent or so.

That is exactly why I hope he never leaves.

I agree, and I'm not trying to send him packing just to see him go.

But if the situation presents itself where it's truly mutually beneficial - i.e. we get some good young players & AB gets and "immediate" opportunity to get a WS ring - then it is something which could/will happen.

I sincerely hope/feel Beltre thinks of Arlington as his home. When he goes into the HOF can't imagine he'd want to wear any other hat than ours, regardless of what transpires from now to his retirement.
