But if I left, how would you make yourself feel smart?

The last thing we need around here is more ignorance. We've done a good job of keeping the ignorance and pettiness that prevailed at espn out of here. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Oh how I miss the dick measuring contests on the Ranger board.

Honestly, I think Profar will be fine but missing all this time can't be good for his game. It will probably be really tough for him to live up to all the hype at this point... hope I'm wrong about that though. I was really hoping for a breakout year for him.

Love the new 2.0 version!

The Rangers may still be hoping Profar can take over at SS or 3rd eventually, but their best move may be to build his value back up and get a team to bite on him.

Yeah, sad that this could be Beltre's last season but I don't think they would cut him lose and he may have already met the requirements of the vesting option-not sure though. Not sure if he can opt out either but I wouldn't expect him to.

From what I gather, Profar would be a better replacement at 3B than Gallo would. If they did build his value back up and trade him, what would be our options for 3B in the not to distant future?

I want him to be able to successfully rehab so bad. Just like Colby, he deserves it.

Agree with you 100% on this. Would love to see both of them be successful again for the Rangers.

There's always Gallo. I don't see them letting Beltre go unless he just falls apart this year. He's still one of the better third basemen in baseball. And yes, I think Profar could be a great third baseman. If he could ever stay healthy.

Bummed for Texas and Jurickson both. He's been in the organization since he was 16 years old and when it was finally looking like he might be ready for some major league experience he is hit with yet another set back. I hope he can stay in high spirits. I cannot imagine the anxiousness he's probably feeling right now. Heal up JP. I still know he can contribute to this ballclub in a meaningful way when he's finally healed.

Well, I tried to insert a tweet, but that way doesn't seem to work now. Jeff Wilson tweeted this.

Jon Daniels: Labrum injury Jurickson Profar had in 2010 could be cause of latest woes. If only labrum is fixed, Profar could play in 2015.

The initial injury was a slight tear in his teres minor, which is a rotator cuff muscle. That was back when he fell off the bed sleeping. :L

Now they're saying the issue is a strain (small tear) in his subscspularis, also a rotator cuff muscle. They're concerned he may have an issue with his labrum due to a previous injury, but that's really just conjecture as far as has been reported.

They let him heal and bring him back accordingly. The talent is still there. Build his value back up and use it as the team needs and he best serves when it's time. What do you want them to do? Launch him to the sun?

I honestly laughed out loud at the visual image you planted in my head with this comment. Sort of a Stranger-in-a-Strange-Land (Robert A. Heinlein) merger with Stanley Kubrick's "Dr Strangelove" vision. Pretty darn funny.
Thanks

Maybe the Rangers can play Jurickson Profar's scouting report at 2B, because there sure are a lot of fans on here who would cheer for it!

Ephland.....you're doing yourself no favors here. Honest. Take a breath.

It ain't the end of the world. Disappointing? For sure. But again, it isn't the end of the baseball world. It's all gonna be fine.

To be clear, I'm not upset about Profar losing more time. I haven't expected anything from him for a long time, and couldn't be happier that Odor is handling 2B now.
