Award bonuses. Full no-trade clause. Player may opt out of contract after 2007 season. Agreed 12/01 to defer $45M in salary to 2011-20 at 3% interest. Acquired by NY Yankees in trade from Texas 2/04 (waived no-trade clause). Rodriguez exercised right to opt out and become a free agent 10/07. (Deal negotiated by Rodriguez' original agent, Scott Boras.)

okay, i could be wrong but Spotrac shows this: Texas obligated to fund $9M as part of deferred compensation provision in previous contract (to be paid with interest in $3M increments in 2008, 2009 & 2010) which made me assume that we were done with him.

It looks like a lot of that compensation (like what Grant referred to) was eliminated when A-Rod opted out.

Is he ahead of or behind: Canseco? Bonds? Clemens? Rose? Rocker? Belle? Just throwing out a few names. Feel free to add others.

Rickey Henderson, Arod, Rocker, Albert are on my list though my biased for Rose,Canseco, Bonds and Clemens because I liked them as players shouldn't leave them expunged.
