. i have heard you guys say the same thing over the years so what is different in this?

It was the statement that you made about wanting the Brewers to eat most of the money owed and the Rangers to give up a pick outside their top 15 that made it an unrealistic proclamation to most of us.

Nowadays you have to give value to get value, not many clubs are going to let another one get over on them. Cant short side the Brewers in the prospect package and expect them to pay you for doing so

There was some discussion earlier about how many walks Alfaro takes. His walk rate looks much better than Pudge's did. I think Pudge did okay inspite of how few walks he took in the minors. That part of Alfaro's game doesn't bother me at all.

Gallardo pitches most of his starts in a run factory.

I think you still have to adjust his ERA upwards for the AL. Garza just had a lower ERA in Milwaykee than in his 3 previous AL seasons. I would not expect Gallardo to have an ERA in the AL of much less than 4.00 if any.

Doesn't Gallardo's ERA translate to about a 4.00 in the AL? That is a pretty weak #3. More like a good #4 isn't it? Colby pitched better than that after getting used to his new hip didn't he?

Milwaukee is more hitter friendly than Arlington. Given his improved gb rate and our defense, I feel like we'd get similar results from him here.

Anything 4.00 and below is fine by me. There's other metrics I'd be more concerned with than ERA anywas.

I think Pudge was just a bit better of a hitter than Alfaro, his inability to take walks is allowing people to pitch around him and he strikes out too much

It doesn't concern me much either, but if he improved it just a bit it would help his overall offensive game, IMO
